Investing is the new gambling! Double, Tripple, Quadruple...why still gamble?

The point is:
You are 'guaranteed' to make more coins with investing in a coin...than actually gambling with that same amount.

Who provides/offers this guarantee? If investing in a coin is guaranteed then all people will invest all their money on it, there is no guarantees at all. There is always a risk of losing money when you invest your money in a coin.

Why not 'bet' on any cryptocurrency of your choice?

• A new promising ICO.
• Or a coin you like.
• Or think is technically good.
• Or is hyped.
• Has a great name/logo/website.

Above things cant guarantee you will make profit.

Who can afford both things are not always whales, I'm not a whale but I always use my money that I can afford to lose in both investing and gambling. It is just about preferences, we should not force ourselves if we do not know what is the risk on both activity.

Since it's hard to define its outcome, then there is still some approach of gambling in it. Having investment is a good move when the company is reliable and we do know that they're project have really a potential. Since they're too many investments we can do, we should really think where to stake our bet.

Waiting for your investment to mature so that you can cashout some profit might be pain for few gamblers so they will keep gambling rather than invest in ICO. We have to wait atleasts 6 month to get maximum out of ICO if it will be one of the successful project but if you will invest in some scam coins than you can also loss all of your investment.

Correct which it doesnt really need for you to be a whale to engage or do both things since we can actually do with minimal amounts and its not necessary to put up huge amount.Not only whales do have capability or do have an exception.I dont know why he do mention about guaranteed things since we know that any investment dont really have an assurance to make money anytime.

Trading or investing in a way is a gamble but playing in  casinos gives you a different feeling, it's fun!

 Investing is boring as you will just wait for the prices to go up, i invest because of the passive income, I gamble because it is thrilling and fun.

Yes, it is a gamble, we can only make assumptions but we cannot really know what the future holds. Investing may be boring, but when considering the enlightenment that comes with it when the profit is rolling in, that is not boring bro. Gambling can be fun quite alright, but only if you have limits and you consider it just as a game. However, it depends on each person's perspective anyway.

If I had been putting all that gambling money into some legit ICOs, with the way some of them are doing right now, it would have been a shit load of cash to withdraw from my wallet. Anyways, the future is still there, just that those moments are already going down gradually unlike when we had the crazy ICO boom, but the little ones still available now can still count.

INVESTING IN (ALT)COINS IS THE NEW CRYPTO GAMBLING!

I completely agree with you that nowadays it's a lot safer and potentially more profitable to invest in a coin than gamble. The main reason is that the coin's success can be predicted based on it's main features, whereas in games you mostly deal with randomness. Moreover, when the casino owners are interested in you losing the money, coin owners are in a way interested in you winning, because if a lot of people earn something from buying a coin, it will attract even more people and thus the coin creators will become rich as well.
Nevertheless, surely, as mentioned by other members above, gambling provides you a different kind of experience and trading cannot compensate that one fully, partly because everything proceeds really slow in trading in comparison with gambling.

Some people are natural gamblers or naturally inclined to gambling and they prefer to place their bets in casino, roulette, slotmachine or in online bettings. Their minds thinks differently from the traders although trading can be compared to gambling in some ways.

I believe that some people are still gambling because they are addicted to it or do not know how to analyze an asset or altcoin for investment and if you aim is to make good return it then means investing in bitcoin is the right thing to do now because of the high return with less risk. The odd of making profits is very low but in investing getting your capital back is easy.

Gambling is different enjoyment than investing. Becuase not everyone like only one kind of game so each person will choose to play different games to get their enjoyment. So if you want to have that fun then only you should need to go to gambling.

But if you want to earn money then what you said is true. We shouldn't go to gambling to earn money. I also, don't think that those price volatility will give same thrill like gambling games give gamblers.

I go to gambling sometimes to get fun with a small amount and invest money in altcoins and bitcoin to earn profits in the long run.

When it comes to the game you play during gambling, most times, it is usually quite interesting when compared to investing.

You can still be safe in investment unless you just want to keep loading all sort of coins without even bothering how far they really can go later on in value or in the market. Even at that, it is still a gamble that is worth it anyway. I can just decide to gamble all the top 100 coins right now and buy into them and see how they fair in the long run.

Maybe for the fun and thrills?
You got me there: I like (or used) to gamble also and the thrills and the fun of (Bitcoin) gambling is still...unbeaten.

But for any other reason like doubling, trippling...or even 10x winning back your investment/stake...why would you still want to gamble that?
The chances/odds are bigger that you will loose them gambling...while the chances/odds are the same (probably bigger) that you would increase them while investing.

Just a reminder for those like me, who have bet and lost more than they would have (and still will) if they just invested that same amount!

If you think gambling is an investment then you can try these things like you listed above but many people doing gambling for fun purpose so they never think these kind of investments.But investing on ICO doesn't provide any guarantee to make profits,so it both have risks if you want try ICO instead of gambling you just go and try it bro.Good luck.

Thats why i have never been interested in investing into ICO's in the first place, even though the ICO might be legit, there is no way to know whether it is going to be successful or not and most of them are scams as we all know. Better to hold on to your bitcoins and watch it grow than to waste money on ICO investment.

I think we are having misunderstanding here, some of you guys are thinking I guess that the "investing" OP have mentioned is in Trading, I think it is not, it is investing in gambling. We are still doing gambling because we are hoping that we could win a big amount of money in able to double or triple what we have, but it is exactly the opposite of what we are hoping for.

Betting in casino and investing in crytpocurrency are synonymous to gambling, the only difference is the excitement, you can always feel the thrill in casino gambling while in investing it's kinda bit of a dull moment because you are  waiting for a long period of time for the outcome unlike gambling you can see the result in a matter of minute. Both casino gambling and investing cryptocurrency still have a calculated risk, you are in control on how to manage risk and losses.

No gambling is really for fun and you can't compare that in trading because they has a lot of difference in many ways like the earnings and how to control or manage it.In gambling you always need to play and monitor it not like trading that you need only to wait and sell it in high price for profit.I think gambling and trading are good in many ways so there's nothing to question why we need to play or to invest here in crypto.,do trading then play gambling that's all.

Because human is insatiable by nature, and in gambling mostly greediness always dominates the player,that even he already won, the temptation and longings to have more than what he had is always pushing him to keep going on gambling, see! I have been a lot of scenarios in where a lot of people gamble their entire fortunes in a simple game only because they were "bored".

Both have different reasons but with similar purpose which is to earn more. It will always depend on your purpose. Others maybe afraid to gamble then they just do investments because they are comfortable with that. Some may do gambling for fun and get instant or higher returns. Mostly they do both to have a long term and short term returns. Whatever reasons it maybe, for me gambling is part of investments. We took the risks in both activities.

Of course, investing can give a good return especially in the crypto world when a coin can go as high as 100 times from its original price, still there's a lot of people who are not yet educated about the crypto and they think it's a scam and they better gamble for instant result and they can manage their money.
