What you have stated above is the same opinion I am having. Bitcoin price increase in 2018 in undisputed but what we cannot predict is how much the price will get to. However the limited supply of 21 000 000 btc is a major determinant of price hike.

I fear that 2018 is the year governments around the world makes a coordinated push to stamp out or regulate Bitcoin. Other means of payment like cash, gold, stocks or what have you are all regulated by some kind of law or another. I fear that the powers that be won't tolerate a truly free and unregulated market like this.

Yes I am still expecting that Bitcoin will be more successful next yearm Indeed, its market value fell recently because of the holidays but is is now starting to climb its way up again.
