I was going through news and articles on reddit and I find out that people are saying bitcoin is under attack and there was no any useful information about this! Please is bitcoin under attack as it has fall below  $16,000 and loss over 13% in just 24 hour.

bitcoin is always under attack in the social media and other ways. that doesn't mean any drop that happens is because of these attacks.

in this case this current drop is because of a couple of things in my opinion
- the rise which was big and needed a correction. just like any other drop (correction) before it.
- the large number of newbies who have invested in bitcoin and are panicking each time they read something online and decide to dump
- the huge backlog that bitcoin has and it doesn't seem to be going down and has caused a huge fee
- the bitcoin cash pump and the social media campaign they have started by encouraging everyone to sell their bitcoin while they are buying it themselves.

I believe it so, bitcoin always happen to pump and dump. It is so happen that bitcoin price so huge that correction is normal. As I can observe on bitcoin we will see the time to rise its value again.

The price has been going down as a continuation of a 4 day movement due it failing to rally past $20k and then breaking the 3 week established uptrend line, so its time to take profit. Dont blame it all on coinbase. I mentioned my stop loss in the mid 18000-s days ago and I'm sure all the other saavy traders did the same.

Actually bitcoin is not under attack but our feared, panic brain is under attack by the rumours. Each time a rumour spread a lot of bitcoin holders ended up selling their bitcoin . The price drop seems to normal to me some of the investment is going towards the BCH and there is a little price correction for BTC

yeah that's right maybe bitcoin is gaining more strength to jump new value again and i think in this scenario bitcoin making a new correction again like what happened before which is bitcoin drop but after 3 days it risen back more strongly. That's why i never sell cause i have doubts that it will continue to surge again and again even it fall sometimes.

There is nothing strange in it, bitcoin users are used to with all the attacks and criticism on various forums. The reason why it is getting hype this time is a lot of new comers are in who want to earn rapidly to double their investment in no time. I think the recent dip was good for the new comers to become use to with the bitcoin nature.

13% is nothing in Bitcoin land. I'm starting to think we need a good 50% correction just to put the scare into some newbies. A little "welcome to Bitcoin" move. I see that masterluc is still calling for a major correction, so we just might get it.

As for an attack? Well, there seems to be a spam attack going on considering how fast congestion has occurred during the past few weeks. The hash rate also dropped by ~ 3,000,000,000 GH/s after the difficulty retarget, so block generation time has increased to ~ 14 minutes. This seems like a coordinated attack to increase fees and cause frustration and confusion for bitcoin investors. I'm guessing it has to do with Bcash....

Relax. It's only 13%. And also you forget about it's extreme volatility. I just don't understand what kind of attacks you want to explain, it will be good if you give us the links of articles you have read.
I see so many coin get down more than 13% a day, and it's normal. It's just a market correction.

The insider trading and manipulation is more than obvious. Coinbase is biased as hell and showed in the past plenty of times how ANTI Bitcoin they are and how much they promoting Ethereum and any contentious Bitcoin fork.
There will be investigations as Coinbase is tied to certain rules for being an BTC Index data provider for CME BTC futures.

Yeah I read all day about the financial pros and bank owners saying it's a bubble and it's dangerous it can crash any day. They are just scared because Bitcoin will take over banks and they will end up bankrupt..

Media is always trying to push down Bitcoin sadly and people will sell and when people sell all others see that Bitcoin is going down in price therefore more people panic sell :/

As we all know bitcoin is uncontrolled and it's value rises and falls unexpectedly in no time. So, it's not right to say that bitcoin is under attack because bitcoin is circular. For example, if today it's value is decreasing by some mean then it doesn't really mean that it is under attack, it will rise the very next day unconditionally. Rise and Fall are part of every business so it's better to ignore the fake news and concentrate over the right path. It will save your time and keeps you relax.

Bitcoin is under attack because of FUD surrounding transaction cost and speed, couple that with bitcoin cash growth on news of listing on coinbase and being accepted by others. Bitcoin is always under attack from something but it comes out the other side, a 10% drop isn't really anything of great significance and it will be made up in a day or two once confidence is restored. Still expecting 20k+ by new years.
