Another question is, what happens to all the tokens and projects when there is a newer technology and ethereum is obsolete. I am not sure if you want to migrate your token every few years to a new blockchain.

When eth network will go down than all erc20 tokens will be affected, nobody can transfer their tokens. Also if any of the token get popular and have high number of transactions than it can affect whole eth network. For example cryptokittens game got popular which is based on eth smart contract, this affected eth network some days ago where fee increased by 10x

I'm pretty sure tokens are ok for the moment, since the ethereum network is being work on and developed and patched up daily.

It will die but if the developers are actually serious about their project there is a high chance they might end up developing their own blockchain. I mean imagine if eth network stops functioning coins like omg would clearly die it currently has a market cap of more than $1.5 billion there is a high chance they either switch their blockchain.

It wont because developers will make updates and they will needed to continue progressing, the tokens will be fit in any platform they just use Eth because of some good offers and the usability, if the developers are serious about the project then we are secure that the tokens will not die in anyhow.

If the developers of the tokens are serious about it, the tokens may either switch to an alternative platform or end up creating their own blockchain. So it all depends on the developers of the tokens.

Some would probably yes because etherium plarform is the way to transact them but others which has already been using their own platforrm will not get affected and some specially with those who have active developers will surely find other means in order for their tokens not to be useless.

It is not too difficult to move the platform to another standard now. There are already several examples. It's not a problem
