Can we use personal computers for mining? Or will it need super computer with some high edged capabilities?
Yes U can use personal computers for mining. Look here to know about mining profit with usual GPUs http://whattomine.com/
I agree but in todays crypto's prices are so high and the difficulty for mining is also increasing that it may be not so profitable to mine in personal computers. Build mining rigs if you can if you some money to buy also mining for newbies like me is risky and not recommended.  Wink

Any CPU will do but in GPU the minimum would be GTX1050ti up to GTX1080ti for Nvidia cards while RX480 up to RX Vega cards. Though you can't just mine bitcoins in that hardware because of the difficulties and traffics so better mine on low difficulty altcoins like Monero or Zcash. That's all and also be watchful on your electricity bills. So better plan ahead. Cheesy
