What are the best ways people have thought of to power their ASICs?
Running an ASIC with free power would basically make it always worthwhile to run. It would never hit a GH/electricity cost limitation that way. This would be perfect.
Does anyone have this figured out? Aside from straight stealing electricity which I don't want to do. I want to be ethical about it.
Solar power seems to be a good choice as it would offer free electricity, but I don't know a lot about it. If I were to invest in some sort of solar power device then my ASICs could be powered for free from here on out. I did a little research but it looks very expensive to power things with solar. I couldn't find a solution that put out enough watts and that was inexpensive enough to make it worthwhile.
I estimated that my electricity costs will be about $60 per month to power my ASICs and after a year that is $720 of electricity costs. My electricity is abour 14 cents/kwh. (I live in Florida)
Anyone have any better ideas for this??

It takes years until the cost of solar power is back in. So no, its no free power. And you would need a solar farm to power a chunk of overclocked bitburner xx...

"best way to power an asic" = 'how do i get free electricity' = im not even going to google it for you
your question has no more relebvance to asics then to a fridge or computer. (and there are forums for those too)

If you were to strap yourself to a bike, you wouldn't be able to sustain more than 200W for a few hours. You could peak at up to 3KW in very short intervals though.

I've always dreamed of making gyms into huge generators... put all that fat to work.
Seriously the only way to free electricity is in a dorm type situation or an apartment with paid utilities. Even then you can't go nuts or it will raise suspicion.

Somewhere in the mountain, near a water power plant, also good for cooling ASICs

Raise suspicion? More like raise a lawsuit. :-) Most standard leases have a clause that specifically excludes you from running a business out of your rental unit. Mining with ASICs could definitely fall under that clause and your landlord could easily sue you for breach of contract with damages for the additional electrical costs generated by your mining business (but more likely he/she will just deduct it from your security deposit). It would probably be easier to hide it in a dorm situation since your electricity is typically not separately metered in that case. Still, you could run into hard limits on the wattage to your dorm room that would limit how far you could take it without tripping the breaker repeatedly. Oh yeah, I guess that will raise suspicion. ;-)

3kW would be really impressive -- I max out at 450W and that's really hard. 200W average for an hour would be tough, but doable.

Yep I ran some rigs in a dorm. Although 16M^2 with shitty window restrictor and no space isn't that fun. If you were to strap yourself to a bike, you wouldn't be able to sustain more than 200W for a few hours. You could peak at up to 3KW in very short intervals though.

We're only just now seeing Gen 2 right? Yes that's a good point as the technology improves, they will become more and more power friendly. If there's any info on future gen ASIC mining, I'd love to read it

Thats something i didnt understand as a child. Why not create power with sport? In times of WoW Gold Mining Farmers i wonder when the first electricity farms appear where poor working slaves have to create power...

I don't believe gen 4 will be any more 'efficient' in the way we're talking. We will still max out CPU/case cooling and PSU power consumption.
Ie why would we be happy with 4TH @ 300W when we could have 8TH at 600W?

Being human power I guess you could say, the only free lunch would be a free lunch. You refer to the meals needed to create power? Otherwise i dont have a clue... I only thought there are poor chinese that work all day at websites like captchabot to solve captchas for spamsoftware like xrumer and similar. They earn nearly nothing with it. I wouldnt be surprised if someone "invents" a human hamster wheel at some point...
