Hi folks,
I am about to start doing some mining with a few GPUs. Watched a bunch of youtube videos and I see miners plugging in the electricity cost in their little calculator and saying how much it eats their profit.
Now if you live in a cold climate (I live in New York), and you heat your house/apt with electricity, regulated by a thermostat, aren't you mining for free during the cold months? I mean, consider this:
- heat is the only form the energy spent by your mining rig can end up (don't think there is a chemical reaction anywhere) - you have to heat your house/apt anyway - unless your mining operation is very big, the generated heat is less than what you need to heat you house/apt
how come none of the miners are mentioning this?
