If you don't want to lose your money in the crash then you just have to convert to fiat now because in that way you are at least secured that you have the money and then buy back lower. You can also short but then it is not advisable to the newbies who are just learning the market because it can easily wipe out your account if you will not be careful.

I have observe that Bitcoin Cash moves the opposite way with bitcoin so maybe you can buy some bitcoin cash too when bitcoin is making a downtrend but eventually it would go down as well so the safest way would be to just cash out temporarily and if you can see that the market is moving sideways then it may be a warning that the reversal of a trend is incoming so you should be ready for the signs.

It is kind of risky thing to do but it works a lot of time. When the bitcoins crashes of course the money falls the value of the bitcoins in the market will fall and that is now the opportunity for us to buy bitcoins in a much affordable price rather than buying it in a larger price and when you buy that in a lower price expect that bitcoins will rise again and even set another highest record or amount because they are still popular and just starting to make their name from the whole world so they will rise again and so as your money and you will have an easy money with that.

1) Sell it all right now, get out 100% into cash ready for short-term trades.
2) Place buy orders at various prices way below what you expect will happen in a single day.  //  For example, buy a little above 14K, 12K etc.
3) Do not check the market too often, just a few times a day.
4) When you see an order is finally filled you will already have a nice profit since people panic and then buyers rush in. You will find you bought at $14,059 and the market is already above $16K.

To the contrary, I think we are only at the beginning of bitcoin explosion.

Based on my point of view bitcoin cash has no future , it won't grow as high as the real bitcoin.
Indeed for now people frustated on how the transaction processed very slow , it won't last forever.
Sooner or later bitcoin network will get recovered , and those people who switched to bitcoin cash now will get back to the real bitcoin later for sure.

BTC will survive and there's no crash only dump temporary trend. You can try trade/ invest with another coin on the real market or maybe currency, commodities and stock. Many ways to create profit from real market, even btc crash ( maybe ) another product will live over and over again. But if you don't have faith and believe it will crash I suggest to leave because you're not sure to start. Good luck with you.
