I had started mining with my PC rig in 2014 earlier in the year using GUIminer or something similar to it. I may have mined a couple of BTC's although at the time I didn't think too much of them at the time because they were pretty cheap. I mined a good amount until I stopped because of electricity costs throughout the year.
Up until now I still have the PC stored away with the software but I have yet to even search inside to see if I can remember the account.

My question is  am I still able to recover the mining account through the GUIminer or where I go to find it.

GUIminer is a UI front-end for Bitcoin mining software. You can use it to mine on pools or solo but does not hold any accounts whatsoever.
You will have to find the pool that you used to mine Bitcoin on if that particular pool stored your mined Bitcoin there, or find the wallet that you sent the mined Bitcoin to automatically.

If GUIminer stored settings on a file, then you can probably use that file to find the pool you used to mine on assuming it still exists.
