You'll have to provide more details such as
1. Name of Wallet
2. Operating System
3. What Exchange are you trying to send them to
4. Were you able to find the public address associated with the wallet to send to the exchange

Or the previous owner left him with a fully sync blockchain and an encrypted wallet without the password.
Otherwise congratulations, you are half a million USD richer!

I find this very hard to believe, without some form of proof, I think it’s too good to be true. That being said, if it is true what an amazing fine, your life’s about to change. Send bitcoins here... lol

Honestly though, you have to remember that BTC was very very cheap for years. People would literally just throw them away because they were worth pennies.
Its not too far of a stretch for me to believe. Congrats! This is wonderful for ya!

With your post history I can only say that you're likely a troll or you are posting this just to up your post count. If not(pretty unlikely) , list what the user above has said and there should be plenty of people who can help you through the process.
You'll have to provide more details such as
1. Name of Wallet
2. Operating System
3. What Exchange are you trying to send them to
4. Were you able to find the public address associated with the wallet to send to the exchange

If this is true, you should know that wallets do take time in syncing and it is possible that the wallet is out of sync the moment you opened the wallet application. Also, it could be that those same bitcoins you're seeing in your screen are spent, given that again you're seeing an out of sync wallet and the previous owner of the pc has his own copies of the wallet file which makes your copy vulnerable in getting those bitcoins.

But I have a strong feeling that this isn't true.

We'll it seems to me as a new version of 419 nigerian scam, you know.. someone with different stories asks you to help him to change a big sum of money...
In this case, congratulation for creativity :-)
If what you say is true... well, congratulation for the good luck :-)

Ha! First thing I thought was this sounds like an intro to "wanna buy this computer off me?"

Perhaps I'm being cynical though, nice find at Christmas time if I'm wrong.

If you really found 26 BTC on a computer, you are the freaking luckiest guy in the world. But what boggles me is that you have full access to the wallet? Blockchain is synced up? and you have access to the Public and Private key? Either you are not telling us the whole truth or dam I keep believe your god dam luck.  The user didn't lock his profile at all? Anyways, either you do the right thing and return it to the original owner or enjoy your new wealth.
