I registered the skype name "bit.coin" ages ago when there was little interest in bitcoins.

I think skype now has around 600,000,000 users worldwide.
(could be wrong but they have hosted 70,000,000 calls at the same time so their userbase is huge)

Skype search only lists a tiny fraction of the full search, my account is #3 in the search for bitcoins.

There are only 4 good bitcoin names , bitcoin , bitcoins , bit.coin , bit.coins ,

So is it worth anything  Grin

Would look professional as contact info on your website.

Spare me the blah blah blah about skype accounts being free, make me an offer if your interested Smiley
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

You sir might have made some money here.  I'd guess there are people willing to pay premium for something like this.  Doubt it will make you rich, but I'd definitely guess people would pay a few hundred bucks for it!

This is similar to a domain thing.

Its like grabbing "Verizon" if they forgot to re-new the domain registration.

In this case, I would contact everyone who has that as there domain name.

eg: freebitco.in - this sites a well known site and im sure the person can value that skype name.

I haven't seen many businesses saying "Skype us!" I tried putting my Skype link on craigslist for awhile, but phone calls/texts always heavily outnumbered it.

I wonder what percentage of usernames are primarily for spam vs personal vs internal/B2B business conferencing.

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

You're right, but I've seen many sites where there is no telephone number. The only methods of contact are e-mail and Skype. In that case, Skype is usually preferred by me because I can get an instant response usually.
