Maybe... if they all do it at once.

I think we're kind of seeing a soft secession with nullification, bitcoin, and general noncompliance.

If every state seceded at once what would the point be? Most would be just be a bunch of weak nation-states, prone to collapse or invasion. California or New York are the only ones that I could see successfully seceding, as they are major players on the world stage already.

That's cause they all hate Niggers.

Do we really need to add racist to the list of stupid shit attributed to Bitcoiners? FFS the OP alone is doing a good enough job making the forum, the ideas presented, and himself look like a joke. BTW I agree that a lot of the OPs subject matters need attention, but the sensationalist borderline bullshit presentations you deliver them with are counter productive, and make anyone else arguing those points look moronic by association. Please find a way to communicate your ideas without the layer of bullshit shellacked over perfectly good topics. I would appreciate it if you would stop poisoning the well, we drink from there.

No, of course not. He was referring to citizens of Niger, which is located within Texas.

Actually, ten counties that don't understand republican democracy want to leave Colorado because, well, they are whiners and when they fail at the ballot box, they look to other measures.

I never thought I'd agree with Texas about anything but...

Quote
"Our founding fathers established the Constitution of the United States ‘in order to form a more perfect union’ through the hard and frustrating but necessary work of self-government,” Mr. Carson wrote. “They enshrined in that document the right to change our national government through the power of the ballot — a right that generations of Americans have fought to secure for all. But they did not provide a right to walk away from it.

Mr. Carson was answering secession petitions filed by residents of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and five other states, as well as one counterpetition seeking the deportation of everyone who signed a secession petition.

The communications director for the Texas Nationalist Movement, Jeff Sadighi, shrugged off the White House response and pointed to a section of the State Constitution that says Texans have the right “to alter, reform or abolish their government in such manner as they may think expedient.”

It does makes sense. Collectively, a lot of us want to make serious changes to our government based on our changing culture (ie: Bitcoin!). Free will is awesome, but the catch is everyone gets it.  Roll Eyes

Me thinks Mr. Sadighi doesn't really understand the US system of government if he believes a state constitutional provision granting the right to change that states constitution (effectively) grants rights to a significant minority to pull that said state out of the union because they happen to dislike the results of a republican democracy.

Perhaps all of the states should secede and then form a new country without Washington.

That way, Washington keeps the $17 trillion debt and the new country has no debt and can start fresh.

The new country can use the Constitution and go from there.

Their main complaint is that their vote doesn't count, effectively, because the down state counties are more populous.  This is laughable.

Although, I can understand if they are considered about disproportionate representation, as compared to being drowned out.  I mean in the US House of Representatives, which is supposed to be a proportionate body, 52% of the people voting for a representative in the last election voted for the political party which represents 47% of the House, while 48% voted for the party that represents 53% of the House.  We can't seem to understand proportionality at the national level.

Republics are not supposed to be proportional.

Ha!  Since that was awhile ago, perhaps the OP would also be pointing to newspaper articles from the 1800s announcing the succession of former member states of the CSA...almost the same timeliness.

Erik Cartman is now on northern county board.  Love these people (all 10 of them) who fail to understand our system of government.
