I had this exact idea as well! Pokerstars with bitcoin, the programming doesn't seem like it would be too hard, but securing it would be a whole other story.

I wonder if pokerstars or hightilt have been looking into this.

I'd heard that there were indeed poker sites that accept Bitcoin. ... There's obviously https://betco.in/ which is actually a bitcoin poker room (bets are denominated in BTC) and a few others like that, but that's a different deal than just using BTC as an initial funding mechanism, which is what the major poker sites would do.

It seems like it might be difficult for the online "casinos" but pretty easy for the sports books to start accepting btc.

They do, but they don't allow players from the USA, and they ban you if you use a proxy to hide your location. I also think that if someone just did player to player transfers to fund/cashout they'd get pretty suspicious.
