Nobody saw this coming I guess. Is there no 2nd factor authentication on etherdelta?
.

the team of Ethereum blue is coming up with a solution to cases like this. they intend to protect all private keys with two factor authentication.  therefore even if your private key is compromised, your funds or tokens will still be safe

Smiley It's decentralized exchange. You don't have even an account to turn 2nd factor authentication on.

As of the hack, I noticed the suspicious behaviour and interface yesterday when I came to ED and tried to get to the contract address which wasnt listed there and got the page with PPT (or something like this). Moreover the GUI was changed a little bit. So I decided not to do anything and it was the totally correct decicion.

It was hacked and people lost money, thats a shame.
Im not sure how people will feel about EtherDelta now, maybe loss of trust.  I hope that the developers can fix this problem so it doesnt happen again.

A few days ago etherdelta posted a tweet that some good news will come soon. So these are good news? Etherdelta got hacked and hacker transferring money from ed! We are not safe anywhere!! What do you think? I am feeling so bad  Cry Cry
It's confirmed that Etherdelta got hacked and was attacked, it was posted. We can't stop these attackers it's all about money, they are greedy ones that are just waiting for the rise and just suddenly attack an exchange. This is getting worst and every exchange should be aware of it and it's now time to invest into a better security that they can provide not only for their business but also for their customers.

I didn't know that YoBit got hacked, when did that happen? Hopefully there isn't that many people hurt by it.
I don't have an idea too on when it got hacked, lack of evidence too with his money that were gone.

It is unfortunate that people  hack into accounts and steal other people's hard earn coins. The same people could use their talent that is their intelligence positively or use it for something useful to themselves and the society .It is really sad Sad Angry Cry
I have to raise my hand for that comment it's really sad how a smart person that can hack a website or whatever don't uses his intelligence in getting his money the hard way by working hard to get his goal

I just heard that their website was attacked, and I didn't think that my personal account was hacked, which sounds too scary to trade on this platform.

Its such a shame because many ERC-20 users were part of EtherDelta, and the fact that some of them lost their money is sad to hear.
EtherDelta should up there security measures now after this.

Don't try to use Etherdelta until it is safe to avoid lost of funds. Just wait for the instruction on the official twitter account of Etherdelta if the site is already safe to use.

The hackers are despicable.
We really have to be extra vigilant and pay attention to security.
This is not the first case of hacking, neither will it be the last.

I guess best is keep all or majority of the coins in hardware walllet

Hahaha if you were holding all your money and erc20 tokens in etherdelta you really diserved to have lost all your money. No offense, but who could be so dumb to keep all their money in there?
It makes no sense. it is the same as saying that i am holding all my bitcoins on coinexchange.

EtherDelta was never a good place to hold your tokens, they even stated it on their main page, like if they knew about this hacker attack. But anyway if you didn't get trapped by the phishing site your tokens are still safe. And regarding Youbit, I didn't even heard about this exchange before the news that it was hacked.

If you are using MetaMask or the BLUE chrome extension then you will be ok. If you are using MyEtherWallet or entering your private keys directly into EtherDelta then your funds are at risk so you need to get them off EtherDelta as soon as possible BUT DO NOT LOG IN TO ETHERDELTA!

You can get step-by-step instructions on how to move your funds without logging into EtherDelta by joining the Ethereum Blue Telegram group:

https://t.co/RoxhCbc3ku

So far they have given the best advice on how to deal with the EtherDelta hack and they've already helped lots of people to safely move their funds out of ED.

We really are not safe and these guys dashed out with a whole lot of funds. A lot of people who did not quickly get the news ended up being a victim and over $6000 worth of hard earned tokens and some Ether went into some scammers account. Really a sorry and devastating case.
