Anyone kicking themselves for not buying bitcoin sooner now has a novel way to make amends. One of Ireland’s best known lottery operators is offering a bitcoin bounty worth millions of dollars. In exchange for picking six numbers, entrants – who aren’t limited to the Republic of Ireland – will be entered into a draw whose current jackpot stands at 1,025 BTC. Honestly, I feel like any form of gambling is not really worth it. What if you end up tossing in something like 5$ in bitcoin into some form of gambling. What if bitcoin multiplies ten-fold in the next few years? That's a loss of 50$, assuming you don't win (which is the most probable outcome). I guess people get the rush of gambling when they buy into whatever form they prefer, but in the end, you're more likely to come out negative.

This area is up for grabs! PM me if you're interested.

Bitcoin and betting have long been bedfellows, with hi/lo gambling site Satoshidice one of the first applications for spending the cryptocurrency. In more recent years, bitcoin has gained traction at a number of ‘provably fair’ cryptocurrency casinos, and many more online casinos and sportsbooks have added BTC as a deposit and withdrawal option.

first? really?

for years there have been lots and lots of lotteries with bitcoin. from small and even scammy ones to bigger ones held by biggest bitcoin gambling sites. it is certainly not the "world's first bitcoin lottery" this one!

Anyone kicking themselves for not buying bitcoin sooner now has a novel way to make amends.

and i find this part of your statement funny because everyone knows that lotteries are just a way to lose money and only one person wins (in some cases a couple of them win) and the rest lose. which means you just waste the money you already have on something that may not happen. you can buy bitcoin with the same money and not miss out to kick yourself later Tongue

There is a FOMO brewing...

Gambling was on of the first business areas that bitcoi entered. It was very popular and at first bitcin had reputation that is gambling currency.
Still I think that it's good that bitcoin is making progress each day and getting accepted in different fileds so why lottery wouldn' be one of them. This is very atractive to people and everyone would like to win som bitcoins o hope this will work and that one day I will be able to play bitcoin lottery in my country too.

Well for me, gambling is not the thing for you don't have the control over your money. Unlike in trading you will always have the choice either to sell or not, either you let  your emotions kick you in the butt or shut it up. At the end of this lottery there will always be 2 winners, 1st the lucky bastard that get that juicy pot in the end of the rainbow and obviously the company who held the event.

In YABTCL.com I have got a gamble experience but not much money. Maybe I am not lucky enough or in this lottery like in any other it is usually hard to get good prize. Otherwise I prefer another way of earning.

It's sad that there are no such lotteries in my country. But I've never won anything in lotteries anyway, so whatever. Good luck to everyone!

This will raise more awareness of bitcoin and the value of it. We can only hope someone that is already involved with bitcoin and crypto currencies wins it

With the amount of manipulation that happen with lottery companies, there is nothing so unworthy of time than putting money in lottery and they will so much do it to the extent that to get someone to pick the number would be more or less impossible after they would have gathered more than the jackpot itself and the license they even have to operate is a proved of not so clean exercise. For this, I would gladly pass.

It is pretty cool that anybody can try their hand at this but I don't want people to associate Bitcoin with everything negative, can we stop with all the gambling and criminal things please or is that too much to ask?  Grin

Maybe I'm wrong, but I never considered the lottery a serious financial engagement. The goal of the organizers of any lottery is obvious - to collect more funds with the least expenses. Where is the guarantee that the chances are really 1 to 6?

Yes, I think it's better to keep Bitcoin gambling than to continue to hold it. Maybe we'll find out later that the money you make from gambling might not be as good as continuing to hold and gain more. Moreover, bitcoin brings gambling, I think Too wasteful, this technology should not be used in these areas.
