Why is EMC2 tanking so much?

EMC2 was doing well until the whole bitcoin cash diabolical on Coinbase... virtually the whole market tanked... everything seems to have recovered except EMC2 is still on a significant download trend. I just bought a bunch more  but hopefully there isn't some kind of negative news I just haven't heard about yet.

They pumped the price with the tease of a huge announcement, turns out they just changed a bit of the mining algorithm. it stinks of scam.

It is normal. After a pump there is a big correction. So it is better to not buy at the top price or just for a very short period. If the news is not well received, the coin may go down. Else, it may stay at this price level. I don't know what was the news. I just read that there was a fork two weeks ago.
