Why is Decentralization Important? Can you summarize in 1 to 2 sentences?

So, I've been in the community for around 4 years using a seperate account and I know why decentralization is important.

However, I'm trying to figure out how to boil it down to a very short summary.

I'd add my own thoughts, but don't want to bias you guys.

I think this is very important when explaining BTC to people.  Consider it Bitcoin's "Elevator pitch"
