Bridges Announcement

Hello Polis Community,
A small, yet important update regarding the bridge. The bridge will be enabled at the same time as the POSDAO consensus at block 361,898 + ~1000 blocks (at some point on Thursday), and not on Tuesday 5pm UTC as said on the announcement, as the creation of the bridge requires POSADO to be enabled. The time difference was created by a small hiccup on the chain, that delayed block production by an offset of 1–2 days, originally the POSDAO was meant to be enabled tomorrow. The POSDAO enabling block is set at the consensus level, so it is impossible to update this without updating the chain and causing a fork among currently running nodes, so the original POSDAO consensus activation block will remain. The article will be updated to reflect this, and announcements will be created to update the community on the bridge status.

as part of the migration of funds into the Olympus Mainnet the team has sent the complete amount of DAO funds into my personal, public, cold storage wallet for a safe migration. (0xF8F14be2A3D129F21fAA53e208cF903043D267e0, both in BSC & Olympus) A total of 369,599.23 POLIS were transferred.

We will migrate this coins through the bridge, according to the bridge's limits everyone is subject to, so this announcement will be updated over the course of the following days to reflect new transactions. Once all of the balance has been migrated it will be transferred to the DAO Olympus Multisignature Wallet (0xF65893E912cE3A89fc393C4803beF175123EE107) that holds 100,100 POLIS (migrated at genesis block time) before this migration.


All DAO funds have been migrated to the DAO Olympus Multisig Address (0xF65893E912cE3A89fc393C4803beF175123EE107), pending to send into the new Agora (treasury) address.

Hello Polis Community,
The first epoch with POSDAO enabled ended on saturday, this gave us the opportunity to gather info on the tests we did on mainnet and testnet.

We would like to share some detailed information on the validator/delegator mechanism :

Validators :
There are 19 spots for validators to be voted in by the system. Spots are voted in based on collateral + delegated stake total, highest total first.
If there are more than 19 candidates, the 19 highest total candidates get chosen for the next epoch to be validator. At the end of each epoch, a new set of validators gets chosen according to these rules. These could end up being the same list as the previous epoch, if there are no major balance changes.
For each epoch, the total reward for all validators and delegated stakers will be 0.152% of the total locked in validators and stakers for that epoch.
Validators get rewarded 1/n part of this total, if there are n validators, regardless of the amount of collateral in the validator. As an example, a validator with 260K collateral gets the same amount of reward as one with 100K collateral, but has a higher chance to be voted in as validator when there are more than 19 candidates.

Delegated Stakers :
Everyone can freely choose which validator one wants to stake with. Important factors are total uptime of the validator, and it's chance to be in the top 19 of candidates for each epoch.
Each validator shares its reward with the stakers delegated to it, up to a maximum of 50%.
The remaining reward that gets shared with the delegated stakers will be divided over the total amount of delegated stakes on this validator. This means that delegated stakes on a very full validator will receive far less rewards because there are more stakers sharing the reward.
For stakers, it is best to delegate to a validator that has the least amount of delegated stakers, to get the largest part of the reward for that validator.

Let's assume there is 7M polis locked in 18 validators.
Validator X has 100K collateral and 100K delegated staking from one person.
Validator Y has 260K collateral and 1M delegated staking from 10 people with 100K delegated staking.
Validator Z has 150K collateral and no delegated stakers.
Even though validator Y has far more total stakes and collateral, it receives the same amount as reward, being (7M * 0.152%) / 18 = 591.1 polis.
Validator X will receive 295.55 polis and the delegated staker on X will also receive 295.55 polis. (Half of 591.1)
Validator Y will also receive 295.55 polis but the 10 delegated stakers will receive only 29.555 polis because they share the reward with 10 people.
Validator Z will receive the full 591.1 polis because there are no stakers to share with.
