First of all, you need to have a certain understanding of the virtual currency and have some knowledge of economics.Second, have a certain understanding of the virtual currency you are interested in and know its development plan. Finally, you can look at people's chat at BBS, look for useful information, and carefully select a good virtual currency.

Why are you planning on buying cryptocurrencies? What are your intentions? What certain characteristics are you looking for on a certain coin?

NEEDS. MORE. INFORMATION.

If you're planning on buying for the sake of investing; and instead of doing research you instead ask other people what coin to buy...
then investing in general, whatever asset that is, is definitely not for you.

I would recommend looking at the top 20 or top 100 of CoinMarketCap.

There are a lot of great coins. Find a project that you like, with a good community and people that you trust with your investment. After that you can have a look at which exchanges the coin is active on. Buy a partial Bitcoin using Coinbase or one of the other sites and go for it!

Blockfolio is a nice iOS app that you can use to track your coins.
I hear that CoinMarketCap also is launching an app soon.

At the start I turned to Doge because it was a cheap coin, but now , I hold only ETH and make smart investments in reasonable ICOs.

Like others have said, in other threads too, don't invest more than you can afford to lose. Only invest in coins you think are going to go up, that generally means reading and researching.

I don't know that there are currencies for beginners as much as strategies for beginners - start small and read a lot.

I think you should choose depending on what you believe in. I believe that our future is IoT, so I'd go for IOTA. Find a coin that seems interesting to you, and good luck!

You need to pick the niche you want to be in and learn the available coins for it. You can start with BTC of course as it's used to buy almost all alts, only a few are directly traded in USD. Then you can start picking the proper niche as I have mentioned. For me I'm mostly all in to privacy coins. I picked DeepOnion for it as it's one of the remaining undervalued coins in the privacy sector. It uses the TOR network to make transactions anonymous, and will implement a ring signature address obfuscation in the future as well.

You also don't need to invest a lot as they are offering the coins via an airdrop here at BCT. You can check out their community forum to see some more ways to earn i.e. bounties, giveaways, contests and the DeepPoints airdrop they are doing each Sunday. It's really a very good coin to start with for beginners.

There is no particular cryptocurrency for a beginner, you need to do your adequate research on a particular cryptocurrency, its trends, its purpose etc. Also before investing in anything be sure to invest only the amount that you can afford to lose.

As a newbie like you i sugest you to make some research about Cryptocurrency first .
I'm a newcomer, I listen to a friend and I bought Bitcoin for $ 16500. And Bitcoin is now $ 14200. What can I do ?

Why did you listen to your friend? Why did you buy Bitcoin? What are your interests in Bitcoin? What are the reasons that made you buy Bicoin?
I think you're a little panicked because of the Bitcoin drop. Keep it. He expects he to grow up again. "It will grow again". You should think and you can lose to not only to win..

For a newbie, you can buy currency with a good reputation like ethereum, for example. First, do some research about cryptocurrencies, look for useful information. Learn more so you don't lose money.

If you think the price is going to continue to go down: sell, and re-buy at a lower price
If you think the price is going to go up: hold on and wait

Bitcoin comes with pretty high predictions, you just have to wait a bit next year. I trust this currency
