I have 3 cheap honeywell fans I had laying around the house collecting dust pointed as my rig. Its cooling it off by about 3-5 C. They are set up blowing up from the floor at the rig and two others on a shelf directed at a cracked open window. Seems to be working out pretty good right now. We shall see what happens in the summer.

I use 2 exhaust fans blowing hot air outside the room and an open big window on the side to let the fresh air in, its somewhat a good fresh air circulation from window blowing out and it saves a lot of power and a very effective cooling. I only deals with dust and filter them on window and just by cleaning them out regularly.

When it gets super hot outside I do blow a big fan across my rigs to move the heat away a bit. Works pretty well, IMHO.

This one works. Me, I'm actually using standard floor fan to help cooling my rig. But if it's cold in your place, this might not help that much.

Normal fan wouldnt give you a super cool, but if you use it with the correct direction it will give you some amount of cooling by pulling the heat out

If I put the fan blowing BEHIND the cards, they actually heat up more for some reason. But if i put the fan blowing in the direction of the Cards Coolers it helps a bit.

A standard Lasko/Galaxy box fan only eats 50-60 watts ballpark if it's on it's HIGH setting - it eats a LOT less on low (probably 20 watts perhaps less), which flows enough air to keep a FEW rigs cool.
Most case fans that blow noticeable airflow at all eat 4+ watts PER FAN, and you generally need more than one to keep a SINGLE rig cool.
There's a reason my newest "rack/shelf" unit is designed to run 6 rigs with 2 standard box fans to move air through the unit.
The box fans are also a LOT less expen$ive than buying a BUNCH of case-type fans to achieve similar airflow (even my Hamfest Special used NMB fans were $2 each, and that's VERY cheap for a good server-type case fan - new ones commonly hit $10 ballpark EACH).

Just Bought 2 Fans for my Rig!! It works!!! temperature is estable.
Just made my Rig with 6 x Radeon RX580. Minning already!! Hope the investment got pay in a few months!!
Made a custom Rack of 1 meter for 12 GPUs, so they have more space in between.

i really want to make more rigs - i'm running one now - but I'm so over my head in terms of heat control. If anyone knows a good source of info for this, please let me know.

Just a cheap fans on the rig's case which redirects hot air from video cards. You don't need to excel in this case, "normal fans" are cope with their function.

Why don't miners look for water cooled video cards? Shouldn't they be better?

A few do - but water-cooled or hybrid cards normally cost A LOT more than air-cooled. They WOULD be a good option in hot+humid climates where evap cooling isn't an option, like most of Florida or full-out tropical areas.

I put a 20" Lasko box fan on top of all my 8 x GPU rigs. I aim it blowing air straight down on them.
I get a 4-5 degree drop in temperature per card. This is the best cooling situation I've come up that's easy and fairly efficient. On the lowest setting it's under 20w.
