It's not just send coin to z address. The steps here:
1. Create a z address if you don't have 1
2. Shield generated coin to that z address
3. Send coin from z address to another address

Not true. VPS costs around 5 - 10$ per Month. The rewards of this coin are 259$ per Month atm. So you will earn around 250$ per month by hosting a Snowgem MN on a VPS.

You can rent a VPS for $5 per month and host multiple Masternodes on it (only if they are from different coins in most cases).  There are various services in the $8-10 range that will manage your Masternode for you too, although I'm not sure which ones support SnowGem specifically.
