Change the HD to a WD black and add an SSD. Take out a couple of the video cards.

Should invest in a decent SSD instead of going for a high end processor that won't do you any good in mining anyway, and get an efficient low watt CPU instead...win-win.

If I read it right he's not using it for mining anyway.

Tricked out? Where is the hardware SSD Raid-6? Where is the water blocks for CPU/GPU?

Lol I agree. With the exception of the 4 GPUs (which is pretty standard for a mining rig), there's nothing that really screams "EXTREME RIG!" Where ARE those SSDs? I wanna see a waterblock for the GPU, CPU, and even the chipset! I don't need no fancy lighted fans or case that looks like it came out of a homemade anime. What monitor(s) are you gonna use? Either build a REALLY nice mining rig, or build a REALLY nice gaming rig, but don't half-ass both and call it the best of both.

Yeah you should at least have dual Xeons.

Dual Xeons is for pansies. I want my Quad 16core Opterons! 64 cores in one rig.

Cut your mobo budget by more than half and have more to pick from running LGA 1155.
3770k is only $20 more than the 3820 and will easily oc 4.4ghz with proper cooling.
64GB is a waste unless you're using software that can utilize it. I run a fairly resource hoggy CAD that can't burn up 16GB with Photoshop running in the background.
Same with four 79xx. Drop two cards and then resize the power supply. Lose the risers and get a case if you're not mining with it.
edit - I really like Seagate hard drives, but that turd is not a boot disk. You should be looking ssd or 7200rpm disk.
If you want it supa - come back when you're liquid cooling a 4770k to 5ghz, 15krpm SAS Raid, Radeon 8xxx, etc.

Ir you are looking for ideas, a data mining application build using SQL Server Enterprise with Full Text Search enabled will easily burn through 512GB of RAM and bog down 64 cores.

4 GPU is pointless if you're not mining. 2x 7970 (or whatever) is good enough for games at high res with all the stuff turned on.
