Hi, this is my first post, Im expecting an S9 in late Feb or March, the thing is I live in a country where the temperatures easily go up to 35~38° C in summer (95-100 f) the rest of the year its normal and expected for at least some hours of the day for the temperature to raise up to 30° C (86 f). Meanwhile the operating temperature of the S9 are 0 - 40 ° C so its concerning me. Has anyone had experience with this weather, would a good ventilation solve this or would I need an A.C. unit? Thanks!

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Ventilation only helps so much. If you are feeding it really hot air it will overheat and shut down. That being said your temps are not too crazy and it most likely will run just fine as long as you do have proper air flow.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

I think if your antminer is too hot the hashing is not stable than with low temp if you run more than 5 antminer i think much better to use AC to cooling your antminer it can help to cool the temp and your hashing power stay stable. I heard someone having issue before because his miner is too hot and the hashing speed he can get is 12.7TH/s or sometimes drop. So if you wanted your antminer stable use  AC. If you have a wide place i think you don't need it just make sure the hot air flow is always going outside..

So which temp is the limit?
Mine is running at 100 but is hashing is stable (for now...)

What numbers are you suggesting on running on those machines?

Also is a new firmware issued which is having fan control and temperature control?

Wait, yours is running at 100 what? 100*C? turn it off before you destroy it. You should be concerned and finding a solution at 80*C to reduce it, I would be surprised if it lives much longer if you are really that hot.

You'll need mechanical ventilation, but avoid HVAC; you don't need conditioned air. Just move the air quickly.

Only older versions had options to change. Newer ones with "autotune" set themselves up and there's nothing to change manually.

The chips can run well over 100c. While it is not great, it will not destroy the miner. I have hundreds that run at that temp all summer long with no issues.
