gdax/coinbase user sending BTC to another gdax/coinbase users BCH address

anybody make this mistake since BCH has been added to gdax/coinbase?

i got a friend to buy me btc and i accidentally gave him my BCH address instead of my BTC address.....

i received an email from coinbase stating my friend sent me 0.0BTC which i thought was weird that the email was discussing BTC instead of BCH.

i tried calling and emailing coinbase support but no response.

anybody deal with a case like this before? how did you resolve? is it possible to recover?

im shocked gdax/coinbase does not have a failsafe for this. adding another currency starting with a B, and the addresses are very similar due to both being bitcoin related.

i also checked my transaction history for BTC and BCH but there is no history of receiving or pending transactions anywhere.

please help..... =(
