We are working on bringing you a beer-based cryptocurrency. Why would anyone need a beer- based cryptocurrency you ask? Same reason we need CryptoKitties! Because it is awesome!

The mining of the Beerchain Beercoin can only be done by drinking a beer from a participating brewery. We will place a unique QR-code inside a bottle cap, which you can scan with our Beerchain App to create some nice cold Beercoins.

Since it is currently the time of the year were people receive presents we thought it would be the perfect time for our Airdrop. If you were nice this year and believe you absolutely deserve a present why not treat yourself to some Beercoins.

How are you going to get QR codes under beer bottle caps? Which beers and countries will participate?

In theory there can be up to 500.000.000.000 Beercoins, but since we will be buying them back and burning them along it will never reach this number.

We are currently only talking to German breweries but we will not rly be limited by country. If any brewery is big enough and wants to participate they can work with us.
And we will simply print the code inside the cap. Costs about 1-2k to print 250 000 caps.

It will have to be high quality printing for a QR code to work on a bottlecap and be legible. Why not print a private key under the cap?

where you can buy or sell markers, what exchanges you plan to add, whether you will have a bounty company to attract breweries to your participation in Beerchain.

interesting idea , i wish i could push the fast forward button and see the actual execution of this in 6 months...i would say placing the code in a better place would be ideal but im not the dev and throwing those codes out  needs to expect to have less then 1 : 1000 ever claimed

We will have the first testing batch for the codes around February so we will see then if it works... in case it doesn’t we will keep the idea with simple keys in mind.

We are currently not set on being listed on special exchanges, and the talks with the breweries are going well so far. We will see if we need to motivate them with bounty’s.

We want to place the code inside the cap mostly for two reasons:
1. We can make sure the code cannot be claimed by someone else but the person drinking the beer
2. Well the bottle cap kind of looks like a coin so we figured it would be the perfect place for it
(and after Trump is done with nuking us back into a Fallout scenario we can increase the worth of single cap further  )
