RCoin
Warning: we just had a hard fork to fix critical bugs in mining
RCoin (RCN) is a brand new cryptocurrency that aims to be used for everyday transactions.

Features:
* Everyone mines by default
* Memory-intensive ASIC resistant mining
* CPU mining is and always will be feasible
* Transaction fees are 1.5% of the transaction
* Uses IPFS for peer communication

todo:
* Get listed on an exchange

Wallet downloads & Source code: http://tinyrcoin.github.io
Block explorer is available at the link above.

We cant mine until there are transactions, so get friends.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

pool and algo
Wht's the algo?
Scrypt, with a high 'r' variable (making it require 8mb RAM per hash).
Please note there is no mining pool software yet. Currently solo mining is feasible and rewarding (you may solve a block in seconds)

I think there needs to be at least one transaction in every block. Someone needs to send someone else some RCN

Super cool in theory but I wonder about the validity of a coin that costs 1.5% of the transaction to send, every time. It's hard to imagine this being much more than a curiosity. And for all but the tiniest amounts it would be cheaper to encrypt a privkey and email it, instead of use the RCoin blockchain.

there is no premine; currently we have an infinite supply, but because of increasing difficulty, that's unlikely.
