My parents have just let me know that they wont be paying for my rent next semester at school so I will need to make up the money. I will be getting a job but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas where I could make up the other 150-200 a month I need to pay for rent and food. I would prefer no bullshit survey websites that pay 10 cents for an hour survey, but I guess all ideas are appreciated. It needs to be something I can do in my freetime since I will be balancing school and a job. Thanks in advance!

To be honest, you will be wasting your time trying to earn money with get-paid-to sites and surveys. It would be better to get a 2nd job than do that. If you want to make money on the internet then start a blog or website about a subject you are interested in.
Write articles, blogposts, upload videos, pictures and continue to promote your site online. After you start receiving a decent amount of visitors apply for Google Adsense and earn revenue from advertisements on your site. You can create a website for under $100 just buying a domain name and hosting with Godaddy then building a free Wordpress site.
Before you get started watch videos on Youtube about creating Wordpress blogs and making money from them.

But seriously, learn how to make goods or pick up a service you can give to people that they would want to pay for that's going to be the only real way to make money now, you can't just go to an employer and ask for a job anymore as far as I'm concerned.

Few legit ways to earn decent money online. One of the best is a website with unique and desirable content that you earn $ with via Google Adwords/ Adsense or an Amazon Affiliate program.
You can also try freelance article writing, stock photography, niche artwork commissions, etc.
There's always selling on eBay, but you have to find stuff that people want. One way to find the best local garage sales is to compare what's in your local paper versus what's online (Craigslist, etc). Then just don't waste time going to the ones that are listed online, only go to ones that are listed in the paper ONLY. If they had internet/pc to list the garage sale, they probably looked up what all their crap was worth and you're not going to find Beta MTG cards or 1960s Marvel Comics on the cheap.
Storage auctions used to be worth it, but the TV shows have mostly ruined that.
Become knowledgeable about something and your chances of profiting from it grow exponentially.

The following is what I just thought of literally a minute ago, having the entire idea pop in my head directly after reading the title of this thread. ANIMAL PORN. Dedicate a site to animals in sexual position, but not actually doing any sexual acts. Have people contribute photos of animals dressed in sexy outfits (not photoshopped). Can you image an elephant donning a physical tutu? A male boxer (dog) in an S&M leather outfit. A groundhog in a French maid outfit? A chipmunk in a string bikini? You could have monthly contests for the top three, voted on via Bitcoin. Here's the beauty part of the million dollar idea: Congratulations!
