Is it doable? Yes. Is it feasible for such charities to be set up? Not so much in the current environments. (And it still depends where of course)

But it's something that over the next few years as prices stabilize, well, it could be a very good idea.

If I have enough bitcoin to give to the poor and needy, I will rather send fiat money than bitcoin. Giving bitcoin to other people for me is a good way of helping others life but if you are giving bitcoin, you will suffer the problems that bitcoin suffers at this moment. Instead of bitcoin, why not give other altcoins like LTC or DOGE or other fast transaction and low fees. In that way, you helped people and at the same time you don't need to pay very high fees. Now I don't have that much coins to helped other people. Maybe in the future.

I am poor and needy. Will you donate me 0.01 bitcoin. This post will be ignored.

It is easy to talk about donating but everyone want's to keep thing's for them self's.

That's true. As for today, people is too greedy when it comes to money. They don't mind others even if they have the ability to help people in need. The focus of their minds is too keep only for themselves.

If i have overflowing Bitcoins I will donate of course to the needy because I do know the feeling on how to be needy and it is very hard and devastating. I hope I could earn lots of bitcoin so that I could donate to the needy.

The point is to keep a bitcoin separately for donation to the poor. Donating a bitcoin directly will make sense if the receiver is aware of the functioning of bitcoin and Cryptocurrency. A poor and / or needy man can be sometimes an educated man or a knowledgeable man who is struggling to meet his ends. Bitcoin can otherwise be encashed and given to the poor.

It is always better to think big. I would rather create a trust or try to invest in healthcare or education of a poor child. All quick helps will not last long. Educating one child by spending a $25000 or more will reap great benefits to the society in comparison with feeding a whole lot of people once with the same money. Though it is not bad to feed but it is better to invest in a system that more than once continually feeds.

Yes I will donate Bitcoin to the poor and needy the way I feel is best useful for them. One percentage of the income can always be set aside for donation. After all, life is short and it is best to help as much as we can.

This thread is really a good one, I hope there are so many people can donate their fortune, bitcoin or in other way, money or energy to help, etc.

True, donating to education and other things to things that can give more benefit, will be the best option to do. But donating in the basic thing is the most crucial things I guess, as it require more to be fulfilled for, like food, clean water, health care etc

If you ask my willingness, I will say yes I will too, there are so many people in need, if I get fortune from this bitcoin, I will share some, as today I am only giving 5 cents a week to donate, I think I can make an improvement in this matter. Life is short and make it count and useful for yourself and others.

Thanks for making this thread, so people gain some awareness for each other in need.

Bitcoin can make us rich to take care of ourselves. I truly believe that. But what I also believe is that it will make us fit enough to serve the needy as well.

It is certainly not easy for all to give. Each one is struggling in their own ways. But that is the beauty of life is it not? One who has seen the tough time will empathise better towards the one suffering. Such a one when self sufficient can immediately think of helping others. When I put in efforts to earn, I may as well put in little efforts along to share.

One may be poor out of illiteracy, another may be due life's burden of heavy responsibilities, another may be out of sheer laziness and some may be unable to meet the sudden needs of life. But the fact is same. They all need help. In many ways it can be addressed.

And I am seriously working to address this by whatever I can using bitcoin.

In the present situation, it is not possible to donate single bitcoin to the poor people because the value went up very high and even though if you donate them they need to have some knowledge about how to exchange them to the fiat currency.

I would rather educate the people about the inherent technology of Bitcoin instead of giving them Bitcoin directly, they won't know how to use it anywhere, and Bitcoin simply can't buy him a cup of coffee. For charity, it is always better to just donate fiat currency for instant exchange of useful items.

i agree because you are not only donating but you also give them means of livelihood...you teach them to strive and not to be dependent and lazy...not all the time you can give because all of us have our own needs...what f nobody able to give donation so its better to teach them about btc

Yes i will donate some to the needy because i know the feeling of empty helpless and above all being hunger in a empty stomach is such a miserable and worst thing a person can go through.so from the bottom of my heart i will share and help as much as i can

I don't want to donate any bitcoin for them. It is not being selfish. It is being practical. Why would you give bitcoin if they need money and food as well as shelter? Yes you can make money through bitcoin. It is all about poor I think they will not appreciate those things unless give them a work to do to earn money.

It was very fun to see the question. One thing to note is that nowadays, someone gives a monk more than rupees 1 or 10 rupees. In life, someone has seen a note of 500 rupees for a monk. I do not know whether you saw it. But I did not see it. Well now where to come, let me come home. I'm very poor and needy, someone will give me 1 bitcoin.

I think it is not the most appropriate form of offering since most poor people are not that digitally inclined. It is better to cash out your bitcoins and turn them into something they actually need like education, and goods.

If they know the function of bitcoin then I will donate. Then again, to provide convenience for them its better to convert it to the local currency. Although I have read that some charities accept bitcoin as donations.

I'd donate but I want to pick my own organization to donate. I want to donate on an non-goverment organization that caters to the poor that I know I can trust. This is because I want to place my bitcoins on a trusted drive and is personally close to my heart. I want a better understanding of the drive I'm donating with.

I think bitcoin is not ideal, much better to exchange it to fiat and buy some foods then give it to them because poor people cant provide gadgets and internet connection to access bitcoin they will preper to buy foods for they daily needs.

Handouts are never going to work. There is no guarantee that these people will not sell their coins the very next moment you make the transfer. A better option would be to sponsor their education or healthcare.

You are correct mate, if there are charity accepting bitcoin it is good to donate but in individual i think they do not have bitcoin wallet to received a donation, also i think they have an interest to earn in bitcoin because they need to provide the main requirements like gadgets.

But i can help them by teaching about how to earn bitcoin i think that is the best way to help poor people, much better to help them by teaching them to work than waiting for the donation by other people.

You are right, your post should be ignored. Whatever that brought you actually opened the door to knowledge and wealth creation to you. Except you choose to ignore it. This is your choice. So, you aren't needy or poor.

I honestly would if I was financially wealthy; but right now? Currently not financially well-off so the answer would be no. Of course I would focus on myself first. Hopefully in the near future though, when my btc bankroll is good enough and the price is high enough.
Giving isn't an act of affluence. You can still give from the very little you have. It is a mindset thing.

Before you boast of your material acquisition, take a stroll to a morgue and there you will find those who were once better than you're. Only fools think they've it all. Stay humble 🤔
