The point is to keep a bitcoin separately for donation to the poor. Donating a bitcoin directly will make sense if the receiver is aware of the functioning of bitcoin and Cryptocurrency. It is always better to think big. I would rather create a trust or try to invest in healthcare or education of a poor child. All quick helps will not last long. There is no point in donating with Bitcoin, not yet. A lot of charities are probably not aware of Bitcoin existence. Even if they knew how to use Bitcoin, they would probably sell it in order to get fiat for their expenses. I will consider donating in Bitcoin after it becomes more popular and wide-accepted. Not here in my country. Since it is hard here to have a stable internet connection, people also mistook cryptocurrency to pyramiding schemes. It will only cause issues here if anyone heard that you giving away bitcoin because people are like that. They won't look at your intention but will judge with your means.
