An 8 lines long ANN doesn't really give any guarantees as for the existence of a team who would actually do the project...

It's already done - look at the source code. It already works.

As it's a fork of a fork will bitcoin holders be able to claim from it?
It's not a fork of a fork. Bitcoin holders, and only them will be able to claim BTF.

Sorry I got confused.

Will be have to register bitcoin addresses to claim, or can any bitcoin holder claim at any time by importing a private key?

What exchanges will support it?

All of them should support it (="credit it"). Otherwise they would be stealing BTF from you.

Another question is, how many exchanges will trade it and whether they will start trading futures before the fork date. We're working on it.

But the majority of them probably won't "credit it", and with all the other previous forks, exchanges like Kraken have not rewarded tokens to us. So which exchanges support it, and then which ones will trade it?

as far as I know, the best transactions are the ones that have cheap fees and fast transactions, so, let's see with this project, I'll keep seeing this development, I'll bookmark it first

You are right, all of you. The exchanges are not going to list Bitcoin Flash until they are pressured by the Bitcoin community, and this hasn't yet happened.

Despite the source code being ready right now and everything right from the technical standpoint, it seems we are not ready for the launch in terms of public awareness. Let's shift the launch date one month into the future, so that we have enough time to "make some noise" and launch properly, instead of rushing into it.

We'll launch on February 1, 2018, block 508 000. That gives us plenty of time to convince at least some percentage of people it's the best solution to the Bitcoin fork debate.

Hi, you should learn from the recent B2X fork. When you are forking BTC, you need to be very organised and have some good answers to a few common and critical questions:

1. Who's the team??
2. Where can I get support?
3. Where's the community? - telegram, discord, twitter etc.
4. What's the tech - is there a whitepaper???
5. When is the fork - have a countdown to the block on the website if possible.
6. How & when can I get my btf?
7. Is there a wallet? Do I need to download 150GB of data to run a wallet? Where can I access it?
8. Is there exchange(s) that supports the fork?
9. Where can I mine this new coin? Partner with a few pools if you can.

Having answers to these simple questions will help the community get behind you. If you don't have answers to these questions, you're not ready. Get some help, there will be people willing to help you - particularly if there is a bounty involved.

BTW, switch to X11 algo; there is a whole community of disgruntled miners out there desperate to make there Bitmain D3's profitable.

Good luck!!

So, does this mean there is a developer budget coded into the consensus? (looks like 150000 coins starting on the 3rd block mined after fork):

consensus.BTFHeight = 502502;
consensus.BTFInitialBudget = 150000 * COIN
consensus.nBudgetPaymentsStartBlock = consensus.BTFHeight + 2;

Plus, there's only one developer and he/she has no other repository history on Github.

Why don't you provide more background info.

That is huge requirement to run the master node and very few will be able to hold 1000 BTF in order to do so. DOn't you think this requirement needs to be readjusted since it is Dash's style but the value of BTC and Dash is different so there can be done something to equalize the difference.

Is this project still happening? I like the concept; but I see no compiled code, no information on a testnet, etc. We are ~18 days away from launch and this seems DOA...

One more item: I'm trying to compile bitcoinflash on Mint; I have already built bitcoin and Dash but the bitcoinflash autogen.sh script fails with the following output:
Code:
libtoolize: putting auxiliary files in AC_CONFIG_AUX_DIR, 'build-aux'.
libtoolize: copying file 'build-aux/ltmain.sh'
libtoolize: putting macros in AC_CONFIG_MACRO_DIRS, 'build-aux/m4'.
libtoolize: copying file 'build-aux/m4/libtool.m4'
libtoolize: copying file 'build-aux/m4/ltoptions.m4'
libtoolize: copying file 'build-aux/m4/ltsugar.m4'
libtoolize: copying file 'build-aux/m4/ltversion.m4'
libtoolize: copying file 'build-aux/m4/lt~obsolete.m4'

Makefile.am:79: error: CFLAGS_FOR_BUILD must be set with '=' before using '+='
Makefile.am: installing 'build-aux/depcomp'
autoreconf: automake failed with exit status: 1
Any help would be appreciated.

[EDIT]: Fixed by copying the secp256k1 directory from the dash repo.

Yeah, it's really weird.
Also there was no news about it anywhere and noone talking.
Too bad, I was actually really looking forward to that fork.
