Seems like the fund's got quite a bit of attention (and applications) since it was launched. All good projects, in my opinion, although I would wonder what its requirements for accountability might be, since they've just gone ahead and given the Bitcoin in full! Not a criticism at all, just wonder if the recipients are required to liquidate immediately, or if they could be tempted to sit on the Bitcoin and hope to gain more from (possible) future price appreciation. This latest donation anyway benefits anyone who's ever relied on the wayback machine to retrieve pages otherwise forever lost. Whoever said charity was dead with crypto, yeah?
This is indeed a very noble cause. I am hoping that the fund would also be active in sourcing more contributions from other people who can be interested to be philanthropist with their help. We need more people to be giving and caring so that we can all uplift the name of Bitcoin and make it more humane and not just another distanced figure which people could not relate with. Good to know that charity is also very much alive with the use of Bitcoin. There should be an app for this that can enable anyone with Bitcoin to donate even small amounts and make the transactions free of any charge.
