Im sorry to hear this, really, this was not the way bitcoin was intended. Use segwit addresses when transfering bitcoin, it will be your life saver!!

You are getting angry over miners, but I don't see your fee anywhere near $12 but $1.5 (0.000101 BTC) is all you paid for that transaction, and considering 45 sats/byte, you will really need hard luck over getting it confirmed as even if such transactions are being taken in the blocks, check the mempool as well as https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ which shows that currently ~20k transactions are stuck in your fee range. Even if you tried it with 150-180 sats/byte, it would have gone through (I can understand why you didn't send high fee - small transaction).

It depends also on the wallet you use today. The low cost of the transaction is now in your transaction so you will receive it as long as the fee is low, the blockchain places your money order and you will have to wait for a long time because of the extremely low price of the bitcoin that you actually have the hope that it will take as long as so much of the transaction is difficult to get your bitcoin today.

I've made a transaction of 33 dollars worth of BTC 14 days ago as of now with an abominable fee of 12 dollars and still no one confirmation! Preposterous! How long should I wait?

You're not the only one who's experiencing it my one transaction too isn't confirmed until now and if I'm correct with it's already a month. But I didn't pay the right fee so that was not confirmed as the fees now are really so no miner is interested of confirming it with a very low fee but haven't you tried to rebroadcast it to the network, you paid a good fee.

Are you sure that you rebroadcast to make your transaction to be on queued already? If you are paying through those fees that are set with high priority you will not wait for this long. I know that $12 is that much for a fee but still the congestion is the biggest problem that everyone is facing now, just keep your faith that it will be confirmed soon.  

Yep, in my Mycelium I've clicked on transaction and rebroadcast, many times, still waiting!

That's unfortunate for you george, we all have the same problems now this congestion is really giving us a big pain when it comes to transactions. Have you ever try to let those free accelerators take care of your TXID and do the job of accelerating it? I haven't tried them but there are some success accelerated feed backs from those guys.

No, I haven't, maybe I should try, but even though there are a lot of free things in the Western World, I don't think that accelerators are saint!

Just choose accelerators that are for real results. Like I said, I haven't used them but I have seen some people that are using them and they are satisfied.

Same problem goes for me ive been waiting for my payment to get confirmed the amount is 0.0009 BTC but still no confirmation seriously what are the devs doing. I thought the lightning should resolve this kind of problems and speed up transactions no matter how small the amount or big of that specific transaction is.

if you send it with low fee you may wait more or for ever today even 30 satoshi fee will wait maximum 1250 min.

There isn't any issue of your fee, you should try acceleration service for your transaction to get it confirmed rapidly. To wait is the only solution whether it is for long time or for a short time, due to congestion everyone is facing issues regarding transactions, so don't need to worry, just wait.

Aw that sucks, it was just a small amount but still didn't get  even at least  one confirmation?  But I think your  fee is enough, so maybe just wait for another  time  or days or add some fee if you have spare amount if coins. I didn't  experience this kind things even I used to pay small fees

No, not one! Add some fee? Ha, fee was 1/3 from the actual amount which is just plain ridiculous!

This is not true bitcoin has fast and safe conformation now. It is fast as compare to other currency conformation and transaction. In old days bitcoin was not communed among people and they were not having any bitcoin fast conformation and I have bitcoin today and I know it s having fair and fast transaction to conformation. You can get free conformation but for it you will have to wait a lot.
