"You have Solar panels AND a spare graphics card? You should totally mine bitcoins" they said. "It'll be easy!" they said. "You'll easily make a long term profit" they said. So I'm trying to mine with a MSI R5770 with a fresh install of windows 8 and GUIminer. After about 5 seconds of getting 170Mhash/s I got the error "Listener for "Default": pit.deepbit.net:8332 30/07/2013 21:35:45, Verification failed, check hardware! (0:0:Juniper, 7b14b3ed)" Since then it's been going at ~116Mhash/s and hasn't gotten any shares. I've tried windows 7, tried 8, tried installing a shit tone of drivers, nukeing my drive for each install. I'm having more luck with CPU mining on my bloody laptop. I haven't tried GUIMiner, but have used CGMiner with no issues; it might be worth trying.

The simplest test would be to try p2pool. They're very popular because of their simplicity: no need to register a username etc. Instead of username, you just plug in your coin receiving address. So:
CGMiner -o {p2pool URL & port} -u {your receiving address} -p {ignored. Type anything}
The instructions are on their site, and you can mine all sorts of different coins by changing to the appropriate port and using one of your receiving addresses for that coin.
Try it out!

I found BitMinter to have the easiest to use client for a beginner. I'm pretty tech savvy but trying to figure out the appropriate flags wasn't something I was overly interested in when all I wanted to do was mine so I landed there and I am still there after almost a month. Their client only allows you to mine with the BitMinter pool but again it was very easy and I'm happy with it.
I used a Sapphire 5770 clocked to 925 Core I was getting approx 200Mh/s on it. This was under Windows 7 with the latest drivers directly from ATI (I'm not sure which version anymore)
I'm also unable to view any of your photo links. Is it a protected album or something?

I'll try it. Looks like the site broke my links, toy have to select all the text and put it in the URL bar, just clicking what's been hyperlinkd won't work.

you need to uninstall your catalyst and install 11.X (11.11 or so) , that will fix that issue. Then use guiminer if you are not familiar with cgminer so much yet.

Same for me, everything between 11.11 and 12.4 does not work. Now I am minning w 5770 all the time with intensity 11 and it does not slow down my computer. Try to run cgminer with this command, works best for me: cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333 -u YOUR_BITCOIN_ADRESS_HERE -p x --shaders 800 --intensity 11 --worksize 256 -g 1 --auto-fan --gpu-engine 750-900 --temp-target 79 --gpu-memclock 900 if it crash, try remove " --auto-fan --gpu-engine 750-900 --temp-target 79 --gpu-memclock 900"

Seems like it's going fine. I was going to run it all night but my computer went to sleep after a couple of hours (Yay for fresh install...) Anyways, how long does it usually take to get a payout on p2pool? When using the check stats I get this: http://sdrv.ms/15zMJk2I can kinda guess what it means, but 0.03 bitcoins already sounds like WAY too much. Also, you guys wanna post your addresses? I did promise a month of free mining.

I've had my 5770 working on catalyst 13.1, any version further up didn't work for me. My address is 1F2kVk3Ame4TRGqULFNYvWKK4yNndMmzsc
