Is this webpage address generator good for paper wallets or is it a phishing site?:
segwitaddress.org
I suppose that as I sweep old paper wallets I should do the world a favor and
start using SEGWIT paper wallets, is that correct? Or am I shooting myself
in the foot due to my noob-i-ness? Can someone point me to a good informative link?
THANK YOU!

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

The source code is available so you may want to take a look and also run it locally in an offline machine just in case or you can install Electrum (anything above 3.0) and export the private keys of an address and print it. The main benefit of SegWit is to have lower fees and since paper wallets are meant for long term storage and not daily uses, I don't see how it would help you anyway.

From the test I've done today, the address obtained in Electrum 3.0.3 after importing a private key made with segwitaddress.org is not a 3... address, it's a 1.. address.
So something is wrong and we'll have to find out what.

I asked the same on reddit, let's see if we get an answer.
