We needed another Thailand thread. The purple lights in Pataya will dim for a moment at the passing of Bitcoin. My prediction is that Bitcoin will be around long after Siam changes its name again.

Any significantly advanced cryptocurrency is indistinguishable from Ponzi Tulips.

Yeah, I heard about this to.

The Bank of Bitcoin has declared Thailand is illegal. Thailand can no longer export goods, and owning any Thai made products are now illegal. Several Thai restaurants are closing all over the United States. Even Thai food is banned! I of course have sources, but am not going to disclose them. Just take my word for it. Thailand is illegal now.

I would be interested in seeing a thoughtful discussion about this.

Every central bank in the world could declare bitcoin illegal, which just means that bitcoin becomes an underground currency. That would be a bummer for everyone trying to do legitimate business in bitcoin but by no means threatens the existence of bitcoin.

I suppose that countries that put a lot of effort into foreign currency control will be likely to hate bitcoin. Is this true of Thailand? Do they have strict controls on foreign currency exchange?
