Hey I'm a complete noob at bitcoin mining but i have saved some money (around 1000$) which I am willing to invest in bitcoin mining. I already have invested some money into bitcoin and some altcoins but I want to spend the remaining 1000$ on my first, entry-level mining rig. I have some experience regarding Computers and hardware, and I am looking for the proper build now.

Long story short: What kind of rig can you guys recommend for around 1000$ or do you think I should wait and safe some more money?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Maybe try and find a used ant-miner s7 eBay or alibaba.
If your lucky to get one at that price, with a psu. That would be a great deal.

I think the easier way to start is with a normal PC with some VGAs to mine Ethereum, you can get four 1060 or 580 (depending on what you want to mine and the cost of electricity on your house).

Except he is asking about mining bitcoins in a bitcoin forum. This is not the place for altcoin stuff.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

I would also think an s7, but I wonder how sustainable the profitability of that machine will be when considering the difficulty increases set to happen over the next year or so.  Although it wouldn’t be difficult to break even if you could snatch one up for $1,000.

I picked up an S7 off of eBay for $630.00 + $37.00 shipping in November. I guess I got super lucky to get in before the prices went in to stupid mode. Hell I was worried about ROI at that price point Smiley Anyway it is still cranking along with Awesomeminer reporting back $13.84/day as of this morning.

Wow that’s really good for an S7, price and profit both!  Here I am worrying about how sustainable my S9 is going to be at the end of 2018.
