€662 EUR Fee??

Hi,

Something is off. Electrum says I paid 662 EUR fee, but the TXID says 20 dollar look:

The yellow indicates 20 dollar, but I only sent 0.37 and it says minus 0.42~ in my wallet which is 0.0505~ btc more which is €662 EUR.

What fee did I pay? Is Electrum making a mistake saying it is minus .42 instead of .37?

Hi,
the yellow marked is your change address ( unusued coins returned to your wallet ... but new addy).
And you have paid a very huge fee .. 0.05 BTC. That was unnecessary ( even now when blockchain is full).

Paid fee you can see above the inputs list (in your screen shot)

The only positive is your tx had been confirmed pretty quick.

A damnit. How come Electrum doesn't display this correctly? It said 20 dollar fee when I did "PREVIEW". And it turned out to be €662....
Also: It said with that amount it would be included in the next block, else it would be in the next 2 or 5'ish idk. I can't believe it should be so expensive to have a 10 min confirmation... What have Bitcoin become??

Understood. It's pretty annoying situation and there is nothing you can do now.
But this sound weird. With electrum i never had such issue.

Are you sure you didn't checked the "fee per byte"? ( I was confused with this as well)

I have bad experience with dynamic fees ( most time offering too high ... exactly your case). You should turn it off (before sending tx check bitcoinfees.earn.com for actual fee size and adjust accordingly)

oh, I am sorry about it. It is always annoying when this kind of things happen. By the way now you know how to change settings and have more attention about fees amd you learnt from your mistake.
Next time (to be sure) you can check https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ for seeing satoshis/byte and estimated time.
