Hello all,
I am new to all of this Bitcoin stuff... however I think it is interesting. I picked up a USB eruptor off of ebay. I installed the drivers and I get it to work with Bitminter... however it seems like I have to constantly babysit it. Many times the L.E.D. will turn solid green and stay that way and that will give me an indication that something is wrong. It will say on the program that I am still creating blocks and making progress, but its not. I usually have to restart my computer every 6 hours to get this thing to keep working. I want to use CGminer because I think that might be more stable, but I cant figure out the whole command line thing/.bat file start up. I have no clue exactly what to type to get the usb enabled and working in my pool. Any ideas would be helpful, Thank you.

Brother -- use bfgminer

1: Download and install this driver (http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx) to make Block Erupters show up as COM devices.

2: Plug in your USB Block Erupters. If using a USB Hub, it must be a powered hub. Each erupter requires at least 0.5A at 5V. Depending on the hub, you may only be able to run 3-4 Erupters.

3: Download (links above) and unzip the BFGMiner for your windows versoin (64-bit most likely, 32-bit for older machines).

4: Right-click bfgminer.exe and click Create Shortcut.

5: Right-click the new shortcut and select Properties.

6: Find the "target" box, and add the following information:
-o http://serverURL:portnumber
-u yourusername
-p yourpassword
-G (if not using a graphics card on the same machine)
-S all
--icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100
