Primecoin better than other coins because it is the last three weeks has brought me $ 300 (>150% )of income from arbitration on 4 exchanges (mcxnow,cryptsy,coins-e,crypto-trade)
Its fast for transaction,
and gives good hope for growth to the moon.

Here's a few links I use all the time for primecoin:

Cryptometer.org stats for primecoin (90 day view): http://cryptometer.org/primecoin_90_day_charts.html
Vircurex for trading many different pairs of coins including XPM (also shameless plug of my referral link): https://vircurex.com/welcome/index?referral_id=995-34722
Unofficial jhPrimeminer thread on bitcointalk, they've been doing some great work: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=257623.0

And, though they've been mentioned before...
Ypool, primecoin pooled mining: http://ypool.net
Primecoin Section on PPCoinTalk: http://primecointalk.org

Hope these are helpful!

I set up a PrimeCoin Facebook Fan page a while ago, as I think it has a great future but before I could finish it, I got locked out of my main account "temporarily" so they say!! My thinking is a week or so to wait until I can get back into it and add the Images and continue to pump it with Crypto News!! But the Search Engines will still pick it up without any images!! Once complete I will re-post here!!

Hmmmm, great thread so far. Can't immediately think of was has not been said yet.

Well primecoin is the first crypto-currency I have had the fortune to solo mine. I guess one of the most important things to consider with mining is being sure to run the software that performs the best. Follow the forums proactively, not all but many  other miners are. Keep your software up to date, benchmark and tweak setting until you are comfortable. Backup your wallet, set your wallet passphrase, keep your miners and wallets safe with strong passwords.

By the way, I made my first trade today, in person, some of my XPM for BTC.

surprised no one mentioned prime95 is an app that does something very similar to prime coin but stresses the cpu for overclocking. primes have been found through that app just as it has with primecoin

If folding@home was the father of bitcoin then prime95 was the father of primecoin.

i know its past the giveaway date but figured some may want to know about the great stress test app prime95.

Just try out to solo mine Prime coin today with standard Prime coin client for 10 hours using Intel Core 2 Duo CPU on my Dell laptop. I learnt how to mine from this thread on PP coin forum. http://www.ppcointalk.org/index.php?topic=316.0

with primespersec at 106 for 10 hours, I earnt nothing from the block chains. But I heard that this client (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=255782.0) can mine at 2000-3000 primepersec. Will try this one today on my Dell laptop. Thanks.

If you want to find out more about addresses, blocks and transactions in the Primecoin chain, use the new Primecoin Explorer!

http://cryptocoinexplorer2.com:5555/

You can see top five balances of all Primecoin Addresses as well as investigate about mined blocks and look at wallet address balances.
It is still in beta development.

I mine primecoin with the only PC I have. Since I use this Windows PC for everything, I run the Primecoin High Performance client from a batch file with the following 2 lines:

start /belownormal primecoin-qt.exe
exit

(The 2nd line is optional. It closes the command line window.) This way, the primecoin crunching will have a lower priority and won't slow down the other things I do with this PC.

ANvr2nC2CiJfLHXZkXoKdw9uxgrH18gE4w

I'm interested in XPM after I wrote a threaded prime number finder a few years back ( http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/showthread.php?t=283270 ). Reading up on the algorithm used from XPM, I found that none of my tricks to speed anything up applied. Sad

The guys working on this really know their stuff!

I guess a good tip I have is that if you don't want to have to manually configure your miner it's easy as pie to just download the, "Miner tool" stick it in the miner folder, run it, and log in. I had trouble with .conf files and all that jazz. Great info for noobs who may not be technically efficient enough to go through same trouble.
