This is a specific question. It's not a question of whether HashFlare is a scam. It is not a question of the general profitability of cloud mining. It is not a question about other cloud mining sites.
Facts:
This is what I received from HashFlare on the topic:
MeWhy doesn't the hashflare website clearly explain how people can get their money back if they never reach 0.05?
HashFlare Support (Via Email)
Currently, we are looking for a solution for those, whose total balance is smaller than the minimum withdrawal at the end of their contracts. At the moment, users are able to request a withdrawal in the case their balance is lower than the minimum withdrawal amount by the time their contracts have expired.
According to dozens of Reddit users, this is the same response that Hashflare issues again, and again while they never explain why this is not made clear on their website. They will not make clear the mechanism available for getting your money back at the end of the contract.
Question:
Why does HashFlare not explain publicly what happens at the end of the contract when their is a leftover balance in the account? Note: please refrain from complaining about HashFlare or cloud mining in general. There is only one question in this post. The only purpose of this thread is to make an attempt at answering that question.
