Can the CPU1 and CPU2 on a EVGA 750W Gold PSU be used to supply power to a GPU?  Are they the same as the VGA's?

NO.

According to EVGA, they can't be used for VGA power.

According to my LOOKING at them on one of my EVGA G2 power supplies, they have a different connector - the keying is completely different.

It SHOULD be possible to use one with an "8-pin CPU to PCI-E 8-pin" adapter cable though.

I wish I could find those 8pin to Dual 8pin (6+2) that the 1000W G2's come with.  Those are working just fine with both my Vega 56 rig and 1070ti FTW2 rig.  I'm building another 1070ti rig, but I'm looking to use two 750W or two 850W G2's, since these 1070ti rigs are only 820W at the wall.  Apparently EVGA doesn't sell them unless you want to buy the entire set of cables for nearly $100.  Might as well buy two 1000W G2's at that point.  I guess my other option is using two of the single 8 pins to 8 pins that I have a ton extra of with a splitter, right?  I'd rather buy authentic EVGA cables though.

Odd, I've never seen an "official EVGA" 8-pin to dual 8-pin adapter on any of my G2 series supplies - was that a specific thing to the 1000 watt model perhaps?
Their dual cables are NORMALLY one 6+2 and one 6 on the VGA end.

Mine are actually GQ's, not G2's, but I bought (4) 1000W units last month and they each came with (4) 8-pin to dual 8-pin (6+2) cables.

Not sure if it was specific to the 1000W model, but I know the 750W and 850W models do not come with them, because I have some of each of those.

Ah, it's a "GQ" thing then - I've never used that line due to the "fancy name junk sleeve bearing fan" they use.
