Am I the only one who thinks that futures trading only gives the governments and the bankers a way to destroy Bitcoin ? I fail to see how this is in the best interests of the people who wanted a decentralized currency

no, it is not the futures, the government of Japan is trying to do a massive FUD right now, i dont know why you mentioned the futures because the real problem is not even happening in where the futures are located (usa)

I think also many scare mongering news items are trying to get people to drop BTC right now and mainstream people they are sheep when it comes to mainstream news. I also believe end of year profit taking and manipulation tactics by the whales is takng hold and also BTC forked coins are also stealing some of the marketcap like BITCOIN CASH AND BITCOIN GOLD, which would otherwise belong to Bitcoin. Also the Bitcoin miners are taking a hefty transaction fee and this is not helping the Bitcoin cause at all when minimum transaction is 30 bucks a pop to move around even small amounts of BTC.

Absolutely yes, theres a 90% probability that Bitcoin Futures was created to give way to world's huge millionaires to destroy bitcoin by margin selling it. They use false news like Bitcoin closing local exchanges, ICO ban, etc. But its not effective. They also use prominent people like Warren Buffet, Jaime Dimon to trash talk Bitcoin but still not effective.

I wish everyone would HOLD their Bitcoins, so we can defeat the whales dumpers.

The bad thing is that most people are affected by those fake news and selling their hard earned btc's for cheap...
Wish those publisher will be prosecuted, but none take the time to fight against the 'fake news'. The world talk about fake news, punishing their creators, but concerning BTC there is nothing, impunished words from bigot minded people....

To the contrary, I think those praying on actual market prices on live markets can make futures traders have a bad day. With serious accusations against major exchanges for manipulating prices I would not be surprised to find out that big players in live markets are also profiteering against futures traders.
