Everybody wants to get onto the medical marijuana bandwagon it seems. Now India's Baba Ramdev promoter of Organic cultivation in India seems to be pushing for legalization of weed in India citing medical benefits.

If that happens then can we expect to set foot here as well?

https://www.indiatimes.com/news/india/weed-energy-baba-ramdev-s-patanjali-wants-marijuana-legal-in-india-339252.html
Yoga Guru Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurveda is now eyeing cannabis space in India. After a few Indian politicians backed cannabis research and legalisation of marijuana in the country, Patanjali is now intensifying studies on the plant’s medicinal and industrial properties.

“In ayurveda, since ancient times, parts of cannabis (hemp), for instance, have been used for medicinal purposes. So, we are looking at various formulations. We should ponder over the benefits and positive uses of the cannabis plant,” chief executive Balkrishna told Quartz.

‘Polls find that more than two-thirds of Britons and more than half of MPs back the use of #medicalmarijuana.

 https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/feb/19/war-on-drugs-medical-cannabis-children-alfie-dingley’
Keeping medical cannabis from children is callous, and foolish
The first medical marijuana dispensaries in Pennsylvania have opened their doors over the past few days. Thousands of patients with serious medical conditions have registered to access the drug, which comes in oils, patches and vaporisers, rather than smokable leaf form. The historic first purchase in the state was by Diana Briggs, the mother of a teenage son with severe epilepsy. “I am beyond thrilled,” she said. “There’s no more fear, no more stress for our family.”
Briggs campaigned for this moment after seeing how the drug reduced her son’s seizures from more than 400 a day to fewer than 50. As I know from my own daughter, who also has serious epilepsy, this is a miserable condition when poorly controlled by conventional medicine. Even after 24 years, I still find seizures distressing to watch – seeing the fear on her face when they start, holding her thrashing body tight for several minutes, then making her comfortable when she is left drained for hours. There is nagging fear in the knowledge that these episodes can kill.

#Budbo's scalable and transparent database lets users get the right quality and strain of medical #marijuana by providing exhaustive test results for THC and CBC levels, growing processes, strain profiles and other statistics to all community members.

https://themerkle.com/cannabis-for-connoisseurs-budbo-blockchain-produces-higher-quality-cannabis-products/
If you cannot decide which of the over 300 strains of marijuana  to buy, the ‘Budbo app’ will not only help you, but its powerful data analytics engine gets smarter every time you use it. This improves the quality and efficacy of the cannabis you use. Over 100,000 users are contributing data via the app launched in 2016.
The popular app curates different types of cannabis products for users, including strains, edibles and concentrates. You choose what effects you want from your cannabis—pain relief, relaxation, creativity, and so on.  Budbo determines which strains have the properties you desire and automatically generates a list of dispensaries where your preferred cannabis is sold.  Meanwhile, Budbo is collecting valuable market intelligence by having you ‘Puff’ or ‘Pass’ as you explore the various strains being offered.

This market intelligence will be shared by Budbo with market researchers, growers, labs, product developers and dispensers, to help them better understand the preferences, trends and demographics of the markets they deal in.

BUDDING CANNABIS CONNOISSEURS
While some recreational users are connoisseurs of the quality of their pot, others are less choosy. For those who use cannabis as an alternative treatment for pain, mental illness (PTSD, depression) or other conditions, obtaining the right quality and strain (THC/CBD ratio) is of paramount importance.

Dispensary Sold Cannabis is valued for its low side effects and lack of synthetic drugs. In fact, unlike painkillers, depressants and other drugs, cannabis has been associated with no deaths on record. Maintaining and improving the quality of cannabis products is key to expanding its uses. A pure product is an important marketing point, but like all drugs some cannabis has been found to have illegal or unreported ingredients.

Patanjali’s Research & Development Centre in Haridwar, with its team of some 200 scientists, is exploring the benefits of close to 200 indigenous Indian plants and their medicinal uses.

Patanjali has challenged many multinational companies in the past selling Ayurveda-based products such as toothpaste, face wash, hair oil, detergent, etc. Although, cannabis is a highly-controlled substance in India, Patanjali aims to tap this space taking cue from western countries, where cannabis is legal. India is yet to recognise its cannabis economy.

Contrast the tears of joy for that mother in the US with the concern facing another mother in Britain. Hannah Deacon sees her six-year-old son, Alfie Dingley, endure up to 30 violent seizures a day. His type of epilepsy is so aggressive that he ended up in hospital 48 times in one year. Then he went to the Netherlands, and enjoyed 24 days without a single attack. The difference seems to have been made by a cannabis-based medication – just three small drops of oil – prescribed by a paediatric neurologist. “We’ve found something that makes him happy,” said his mother.

I just came across this wonderful review on Budbo. They are calling it the next big thing in medical marijuana distribution space.

Budbo Token Review - Next big thing in Legal Marijuana distribution

I recently came across a new altcoin - BUBO (Budbo). It's not just another “pot coin, and that’s exactly what’s so exciting about it. Budbo became known as the “Tinder for Weed” in its pre-blockchain avatar due to its intuitive android and iOS apps. The Budbo app allows cannabis users to swipe left or right on a huge selection of marijuana strains and products available in their area. This important data on consumer preferences will be aggregated and stored on Budbo’s immutable ledger, along with other comprehensive data from across the cannabis industry.
Budbo offers logistics management and supply chain integration to the growing ranks of weed growers and retailers. Their shiny app is a precursor to what to expect in 2018. The company set its plan in motion by announcing its token sales late last year. By the 31st of March, the BUBO token will be listed for trade on major exchanges in the crypto-domain.

Usability - The BUBO token is an integral part of the Budbo ecosystem. This ecosystem is a treasure trove for retailers and growers wanting to capture the trends of marijuana sales. As legalization of marijuana becomes the norm, the potential users of the Budbo platform are bound to rise sharply. This directly translates into increased value of the BUBO token.

Scalability – The increasing number of countries embracing marijuana legalization means demand for streamlining the supply chain will be a natural requirement. Thus, the amount of data available to capture trends will grow to massive proportions, and will be sought by retailers and growers alike. As demand increases, the cost will be pulled upwards by the action of demand-pull inflation.

https://themerkle.com/cannabis-for-connoisseurs-budbo-blockchain-produces-higher-quality-cannabis-products/
How do you know if your cannabis is really ‘homegrown’? Knowing where your hemp comes from is paramount to guaranteeing its quality and efficacy. China, where half the world’s hemp is cultivated, is also a major exporter of ‘no name’ drugs. Some of these drugs have been found to have illegal ingredients.

The blockchain provides a trackable and unchangeable record of transactions for the cannabis industry. Budbo makes all facets of cannabis production and sales fully transparent and traceable utilizing smart contracts on Budbo’s immutable ledger. GPS-tracking identifies the origin of products and ensures they are delivered on time. Within this tokenized cannabis market accessible by the Budbo Token, all industry participants are able to more efficiently share data and leverage Budbo’s aggregated cannabis market intelligence.

But since returning to Britain, Alfie has had to return to injections of steroids that are less effective and might eventually cause his organs to fail. This child is another innocent victim of the global war on drugs – perhaps the most foolish aspect of this futile 50-year fight has been the ban on medical marijuana. Now, Pennsylvania has become the 29th state in America to permit its use, while Italy and Germany are among European nations considering this shift.

https://www.indiatimes.com/news/india/weed-energy-baba-ramdev-s-patanjali-wants-marijuana-legal-in-india-339252.html
The United States, where cannabis is legal in some states, already has a burgeoning $8 billion cannabis economy. In Canada, where medicinal marijuana is legal, cannabis sale account for as much as 0.2 per cent of the GDP.
“In western markets, parts of the cannabis plants are being used for fibre for cloth or some kinds of oils. Similarly, we are doing some research to see that the harmful or intoxicating properties are removed and then it is used,” Balkrishna added.

According to a recent study by Israel-based marijuana firm, Seedo, Delhi and Mumbai were among the top ten cities with highest consumption of marijuana.

At a TEDx event, held recently in Panckula, Balkrishna put his weight behind legalizing cannabis for medical purposes, and for opening business and employment opportunities in India.

"Research is already on. It has been found that much of it (cannabis plant) is good for health. But, toxic parts, like THC, need to be removed from cannabis oil," he said.

Balkrishna said seeds of the plant were useful, the fibre could be used for clothes, and the plant's controlled cultivation could help India raise a new industry altogether. "By criminalizing marijuana, we are denying a full-fledged business opportunity to our people," he said.

There's a huge untapped market everywhere it seems. The govt. will also benefit from taxes on such products.

Tier 3 is still in progress. Probably, the developers decided not to increase the price of the token anymore. It looks pretty reasonable.
