As the status going, the fee in btc transaction is higher and higher. With many other alt-coins, they enable faster, cheaper, more scalable experience. Also, the new - coming forks are much more powerful than BTC itself.
It is doubtful that BTC will be useful in the future. In some news, some merchants recently give up on btc.

Not as useless as you think, people already use it as an asset, speculative asset no more as transaction currency
More people getting on the train, the higher the price will be.
For transaction purposes, I still prefer ethereum, still the cheapest one

No I mean they are just being sticked to their fee which really changes as it value increases.However,how they consider their fee is really not fare for some starters who just got their bitcoin increased and really loose some of it because of the fare.
