ah!

buy a pc and put it up on forced password checker
Let it run for ages

45 btc is decent to just let go

I doubt anyone will buy the file even for 0.05
No way to get the coins out AFAIK

Without the password or even a functional clue about its composition, your wallet.dat file is worthless. Encryption science is still evolving and is a very young science. Part of that evolutionary work involves finding ways to decrypt or reverse engineer the very components which make encryption technology extremely secure mathematically. Unfortunately decrypting complicated passwords with today’s computational tools is a very time intensive effort. Cracking your wallet.dat file will not be easy.

45 BTC is a very tempting amount but frankly, it would be delusional to pay 0.5 BTC for an encrypted file based on technology designed by its creators to withstand today’s most advanced brute forcing systems. Not knowing bits and pieces of the password adds to the uncertainty. It could take a week or it might even take 3 centuries to crack it.

Or are you perhaps trying to sell an empty wallet? That would be easy 0.5 BTC from anyone naive enough to fall for it. Don't blame me for being suspicious and skeptical. There are always three sides to a triangle.

You would be better off brute forcing the wallet passphrase.

I am not accusing the OP or anything, I could see how he might not be aware, but there is a good chance this wallet may in fact be stolen and presented to him as if it was legitimately obtained. People keep this in mind if you ever get involved in cracking lost passwords, you might accidentally implicate yourself in felony grand theft.

Send me the wallet and I will give you .5 BTC of it when I crack it.

Also, post the address so we can see it in blockchain.

If you are not good at memorizing the maybe you can make your password the same else with your other account like facebook or twitter or you pin code for your atm cards.

You may put it in public.
99,99999999999999% that you'll never find the password.
And put donate adress. If somebody will find BTC - to donate your adress.
I think nobody will find the pass.

honestly best bet is just to make it public and pray that someones feeling charitable should they crack it. depending on password length/complexity might be impossible or easy. I wouldnt mind giving it a shot but at it but honestly unless password is short your probably out of luck and the file is just worthless

There was another wallet recovery service going around in another thread.
You can try them as well just to get two of them going at it all at one time.
The more the merrier.

Just put up the wallet address here to let those who can try just try and do it.
There isn't much to lose at this point since you can not provide a hint to the password as it is not your wallet and your not the one who created the password in the first place.
It would be like trying to revive a dead animal.
