I have 2 x R9 270s and 1 x RX 580 4gb but looking into buying another card.

Which cards should I be looking at for lower watts and max hash?

Should I buy another RX 580 as they are around the early £200 or look at the GTX 1070 which are at the higher end on the £300?

Seems like there are more algos which NV 10 series can perform better than AMD 500 series . You'll have more options to mine.

I think for 1070 is better than the RX 580, when viewed from TDP and power consumption. For hashrate in ETHASH same but in Equihash 1070 bigger.

if you want to mine eth than rx580 is very good
will provide same hashrate as gtx1070 and can also dual mine
and it is 100 pound cheaper too

Rx 580 is the one of the good mining card. In the RX series itself you can buy the RX 570 or RX 470. These also the good option to use for GPU mining. You will get the decent hash power to start the mining process.
Now many people mining monero and their choice widely as the nividia cards only. For best hash rate you can select the 1070 or 1080 8gb cards.

If you do have the money then go buy the GTX 1070 as they are more powerful than the RX 580. But if you are in a budget I would suggest for you to get the RX 580 which is one of the best mid range GPU not just for mining but also for games and considering the price of around £200+ that is a really good deal if you could get it in that price point considering how much GPU prices bloated in the past months.
