I have a PC I barely turn on anymore which might as well be used to mine.

Currently specced as follows:
I7 3770
GA-Z77X-UP7 mobo
16gb RAM
XFX Fury

I have no experience with mining, just hoping to eventually cover the cost of the cards more than anything else.

I'm thinking either 2 x Vega 64 LC or 2 x 1080 Ti, however I'm open to idea's.

Thanks ☺

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Out of the two choices I would go for 2 x 1080ti. In my opinion it gives more flexibility towards what you can mine. Anyway, check if your PSU can provide enough power for 2 1080 ti or 2 VEGA 64. Since I suppose this old PC is in a case it should be also well ventilated.

Vega is only good to mine cryptonight and yet is very similar priced x gtx 1080ti, I would take a gtx 1080ti any day over vega.

Price would be the determining factor for me. Vegas (the 56 especially) weren't intended to be in a price range similar or exceeding that of the 1080ti cards, but here we are...
