Which wallets support multiple cryptocurrency and will allow one to hold the private keys?
I've heard of Coinomi but I had a great challenge getting ethereum private keys.

Somehow, I find it difficult trusting these wallet providers with my private keys. Anything could happen at any time, you know  Cheesy

Do not trust any onlinewallet or app wallet, they re very vulnerable to hackers, the best thing to do is to keep our holdings in hardwallets.

Do you even tried this method? https://www.quora.com/How-do-I-export-a-private-key-from-Coinomi Just some simple steps to get your private key from coinomi. But I think that the majority of the multicurrency wallet is not given ability to the users to get their own privatekey.
Because the majority of the companies said that for the safety reason and they are all keeping it.

I suggest you try exodus (you have control your private key) and another one just like jaxx which stored the private key on your device.

You can try the Kcash wallet, which supports most tokens, but the occasional network instability worries me

I suggest using coinomi because it supports a lot of cryptocurrency, the reason why you can't find your Ethereum private key in the app is because all private keys of all the coins you have are encrypted to the recovery phrase but there's still a way to get it. Just enter your recovery phrase here https://coinomi.com/recovery-phrase-tool.html and it will give you your Ethereum private key or if you don't trust me or this link go to coinomi app and click Ethereum then click menu, you will see "export keys" click that and it will redirect you to the link that I gave, just put your recovery phrase and choose Ethereum. Exodus is also good multi asset wallet.

If you want a physical wallet I suggest you to buy Ledger wallet S, it's great, but for now it supports just about 20-30 currencyes, dunno look here and scroll down: https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/ledger-nano-s?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIo8_OqdOv2AIVrRbTCh35SgAdEAAYASAAEgKUJ_D_BwE

Monero will be supported in the future too, at the start of next year, so I've heard, and probobly more coins will also follow,

but the downside is only that if you have everything on this wallet, and someone get's your private keys, then it's all gone by pete tong...

Coinomi is one of the best multiple crytpo currency wallet and there are other with these kind is Exodus and cryptonator these wallets supports popular altcoins. If your coin is based on ERC20 then MEW will be the best option for you.If you still not satisfied security level of these wallets then buy Ledger Nano S which supports more altcoins and fully secured.
