Are you asking about the price of altcoins that you bought with bitcoin after there's a hypothetical crash of BTC? If BTC drops like crazy and the altcoins don't, then you saved yourself from the drop I guess. I don't see what other conclusion to come from in that scenario. In the case that the altcoins you put your money into as well drop, then you'll probably see a worse drop than BTC if the entire crypto market is just plummetting. Honestly, these are very tentative and probably not likely to happen soon.

Generally altcoins rise and fall with bitcoin. If bitcoin crashed by 90% overnight then I'd expect altcoins to crash by maybe 70% to 85%
People say btc is disconnected from altcoins. It's not. And vice versa.

Will still hold its dollar value, then you can look for an exchange where you can have a direct alts to USD trade. If none then hold it until one comes.

if bitcoin where to crash 90%.... altcoins will crash x3 x4 fold... altcoins are only strong when bitcoin is stable... but anyway, strange title to assume bitcoin crashes and burns :p even if bitcoin where to dump to 8k it still rose 400-500% during 2017

I would still hold. I don't think it would just go down just like that. I pretty sure if it goes down it will sill come back up.

If bitcoin falls 90%, I guarantee you that altcoins will fall 90-100. Altcoins are always worse hit by volatility of bitcoin - it's the nature of being the 'safest' and the 'gateway'...confidence is lost in the whole community when bitcoin falls, don't expect your altcoins to maintain value...they'd be destroyed by it.

I purchased ethers and they are fine. I made a smart move exchanging my satoshis into ethers just right before BTC's price had fallen. Now Ethereum is eventually growing. I think that Ethereum will be the king soon. It's the best crypto for me.

This is half right why? most of them are dependent on bitcoin but not all of them will be affected by bitcoins price ups and downs you can see some coins behaves differently from btc just by observing the crypto markets price most of them have dropped because btc drops this day but you can also witness that some coins drastically gain a price increase, I saw one coin that increased almost 55% so it is not always the price of bitcoin dictates.

Well, I'm happy that I traded some of my bitcoins and bought some ethers, because in percents as much BTC has dropped as much ETH has grown. Ethereum can be a bitcoin successor in next two or three years easily.

If you are talking about alts, then there would still be a huge decrease in value. Assuming the exchanges don't outright close, since those alts are tied to bitcoins, you still would have lost money. I mean, what's the use of a single altcoin that's work thousands of btc if btc is trading at $0.50? Although something like that sure sound unlikely, nothing is really certain.
