Regarding using graphics on the net and bitcoin logo

Is it open for public/commercial use freely? Or will Getty images / ect start hunting for using bitcoin logos

Logo Bitcoin isn't restricted by copyright. You can safely use without fear. I didn't hear anyone having any problems because of that. More information can be found on wiki or google.

I agree to their side. It doesn't fall to either trademark or copyright laws as it can be freely use by anyone. It cannot be covered by trademark as it is not a company that provides services or product it is just a virtual currency. It cannot be copyrighted as it is not made by an author nor we can identify the artist who created the said logo. Also asking it on another way can you declare or own the rights to the symbols of Fiat currency for the U.S. dollar or Euro? I guess not as it is the symbol for that currency and anyone can use it.

There is no copyright on bitcoin logo, it has been registered in a public domain and hence it is free for everyone. Anyone can download it , use it for their personal purpose and there is no need to pay for anyone. There are some websites which are selling the modified logos of bitcoins, people should done some research before paying for the logos as these logos are easily available freely. 

In reality there is no physical or legal person who may be responsible for the proper functioning of bitcoin or the fulfillment of the rules set by him or the supervisor,Thats why I think that there is no copyright on bitcoin logo,But I don't understand why are you interested in this issue.I think in another situation there will be problems about decentralization and it will lose its value,People use  bitcoin because it is a decentralized and If bitcoin logo owns the creator this would be nonsesnse.

Its not actually bad to ask regarding on this matter since this is a forum and any consultation would really be welcomed but if we do see on why/who created bitcoin then we can really say that there would be no restriction on using bitcoin logo. You can modify as much as you like since theres no violation for infringement. I don't know why other people do pay up regarding on this logos which is actually free.

I think it’s just fear of being in the wrong

Although the forum has cleared the issue I was worried about using the logo on my news site
Reason being is that I paid 2000 usd fine for a image of Dubai I had on my business website (Getty images contacted my office with a threatening manner.

I guess Bitcoin logo/symbol is not an issue for copyright. This design is for everybody and a very much free to use especially in promoting in other social websites.

There is no declared copy right claimed for this logo therefore it is free to use by everyone. In fact, creator of Bitcoin currency is still an issue in which there is no legit person declared of who made Bitcoin therefore logo ownership is an issue too.

Bitcoin Logo is actually pretty free to use for any purposes and I think it's pretty obvious. We see the logo all around us if we are in this crypto world. It's in Public domain and can be used before or after alteration for various commercial and non commercial uses. But the interesting thing is that if by any chance Satoshi would have registered it we might have found out his address or some more information.

That's like mentioned above There are many variations of the original design made by different companies. I feel those can be copyrighted if sufficient modifications are made.

yes as long as they are using  what's on here https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bitcoin_logo.svg which are all free, but if you are using logo that comes from a guy who made a modification and you don't get his permission and he happens to have a copyright on his work he can charge you, so it's better to ask for permission or create your own modification.

Hi man. I am using this logo for my youtube channel and some other projects. It can be used freely. Just read some information about trademark registration, it will help you to understand how it works.

People should be careful, not all this logo are free there are  logos that have modification and that creates copyright, so be careful not everything you see online are free you better check if there is a modification and who owns the modifications and if he has a copyright on it.

Of course, you can, in fact, we should encourage supporters, investors, and traders to use it in their keychain t-shirt printing and to promote Bitcoin further I seldom see people use Bitcoin logo in their t-shirt or anything in their possession, when we should encourage because it's free, maybe five years from now Bitcoin logo will become the most iconic and popular logo in every city like what Nike and other popular commercial logos.

Bitcoin's logo is not like a logo of a Business where they iwn the copyright and trademark for it. Bitcoin's logo symbolizes its cryptocurrency value sort of like $ for the USD, ¥ for the Japanese Yen its how your recognize Bitcoin is Bitcoin without that logo you wouldn't know what currency is that number for. It's simple as that and you literally aren't stealing anything because it can be freely use by other people.
